OK I'm not a Sanchez fan, but the book is far from done on the newbie. Last year we saw raw inexperience and rookie adjustment. Remember that Tom Brady said how different things on the field looked to him his 2nd year and that rookie season was one confusing blur. Let's see if The Sanchize has learned as we watch him thru October at the very least. Me, I'm hoping for another Bodden Bonanza when we play the JESTs again.

Hats off to your organization if you guys pull this off. Although many here fail to see the significance of this move a few do, and realize it spells tough times ahead for the Pats. Even if you guys have to give up Harris, is there any doubt that Ryan will find, and develope another LB to take his place? From all appearances he has most certainly over taken BB as the true defensive masterminf.

I can't get over some of the homerism. How does adding Marshall not make them exceptionally better? Regardless of his off field stuff that everyone points to, he has produced at a high level every year. He had a Pro Bowl season with Kyle Orton. Sanchez has much more potential than Orton, and Sanchez will improve from last season. With that o-line and running game, it makes it easier on Sanchez to throw, especially with play action.

There is nothing wrong in the locker room with that defense. All of those guys love playing for Rex and love to talk because Rex evokes confidence, and they all follow suit. Revis and Cromartie are perfect CB's for that type of defense. Jenkins coming back is also a boost. Even if he's not the same player he once was, he's still big enough to just occupy blockers and stop the run like Wilfork.

Either way, we have a lot of work to do.

The fact is Sanchez is prone to make a lot of msitakes. The way they maintained it in the playoffs was to take the ball out of his hands. He is great if they have him throw 15 times a game where the defense isn't expecting the pass and he can trick them with playaction. With the loss of Thomas Jones and an addition of Brandon Marshall, they would likely abandon that strategy.

The Jets are formidable if they can pound the ball 30-40 times a games and Sanchez picks and chooses his spots. The Jets are vunerable if they ask Sanchez to air it out because I think he has trouble seeing the field especially with his height. We don't know if Shonn Greene is capable of getting 1,400 yards and we don't know if the Jets are capable of winning with Sanchez throwing 25-30 times a game.

Also the comparisons between Orton and Sanchez, Sanchez has more potential, but he also has a far greater tendence for making costly mistakes. Orton may be average, but he doesn't make a lot of mistakes.

It really depends on what the Jets lose to get Marshall. I think Denver should take no less than the Jets' low 1st round pick. Otherwise if I were Josh McD, I'd be saying, you won't give us a first, fine give us Revis!

Rob0729 nailed it by showing Sanchez go 2-8 when throwing the ball 20+ times.

With Marshall, Edwards, Cotchery, and Keller at TE, there pretty much telling him to operate a Patriots/Colts type of offense.

Sanchez will fail at that.

In fairness, the Jets were undefeated when Sanchez threw the ball 19 times or less last year. Why would you want to stick with a strategy that all you do is win with. Air out the ball and win 20% of your games. That is the way to do it.

No, it doesn't mean they are going to abandon that strategy. It simply means they become much more balanced.

We had problems with them last year as a run 1st team. Now you throw in a weapon like Marshall...good luck.

As far as their leading rusher leaving, who cares? Green is going to be just as capable along with whoever else they bring in plus Washington. They have one of the best run blocking O-lines in the league. That trumps the loss of Jones.

How are the JETS loading up if they have to trade assets to acquire Marshall?? And how are they loading up when they trade one failed experiment at RCB for someone elses?? And how are they loading up when they let a 1400 yard RB walk while they are playing footsies with a washed up shell of an egotistical former HOF media darling who taps out and cries behind his visor when things don't go his way...

And Sanchise can study film 'til the cows come home, though I don't expect he really will, and that may not offset all the film 12 DC's have now compiled to study on him courtesy of the Colts, Bolts and those Dolts in Cincy... Sophomore slumps don't just come from lack of effort or development from a QB's rookie season to his second. They come from the league catching up with the players developing tendancies based on 16 or 19 weeks of film...What seperates the one year wonders (or in this case hyped up stretch run wonder) from the real deals is the ability to adjust to the adjustments thereafter.

I seriously doubt the Broncos are going to give the Jets sweetheart deals like the Browns did. McDaniels and Xanders will want an starter who can play which more than a short term fix for Marshall. That means they will want a Calvin Pace or someone like him if they are not getting a first round pick in exchange for Marshall. The Broncos are not going to let Marshall go for a second and say a Cotchery.

It is possible you are over valueing T Jones.

I say that because look what he did in 07 behind a poor Jets O line.

If nothing else, T Jones stayed on the field, I agree that S Greene may not be able to stay healthy with an increased work load.

In the end I also agree the Jets success comes down to how the Sanchise develops. Adding a top 5 receiver would have to help with that assuming they don't lose Cotchery.

brandon marshall with the jets would be bad for the pats regardless of whether or not they have thomas jones.......finding RB's to get carries is not hard to do.......and shonn greene has shown alot of promise, and they have one of the best OL's for running the ball

the problem for them is that they will have to sign him to big money.....and then do the same for braylon edwards after the season, or let him walk......for that fact, they will be having to do that for cormartie, too........

there is risk associated with this move.......if the chemistry is bad, the jets window for success is not that big and they could set themselves up to be bad for a very long time.....

if they have 2.... 3 would be a bargining chip for future drafts...

I really believe the Jets will get him because of the Bronco's less need for another 1 in this years draft. It will be interesting to see how Josh plays this one.


He could make 1 of the three number 1's into a big deal for more 2's 3's etc which would go a long way in a deep draft pool.

Just wondering, when is the last time they actually won a division title? Seems like eons ago.

if this is really potentially happening, the pats need to make a run at him. period. brandon marshall's strength is that his play is not contingent on the quarterback being highly skilled, which is why he's much better than a reggie wayne or ochocinco, who have great hands but need quarterbacks that can get them the ball twenty yards downfield. marshall is a RAC guy. you give him an easy slant and he's big, tough, and fast. he burns your secondary, and he's very hard to tackle. this is EXACTLY what a kid like Sanchez needs to keep upping his confidence. i promise, we do not want this guy in our division for the next ten years.

this is where we take advantage of the uncapped year and just bite the bullet, kraft, and have two 10 mil recievers for one year alone. marshall is worth what he's asking for. great hands and he turns nothing into something. why the hell wouldn't he be worth a 1st round pick? especially the type of hit or miss pick in the 20s that we have? sign him to a contract with a poison pill clause, send denver our 1st, and get stronger at a position of huge need while not allowing him to go to the jets. we have a better pick and a relationship with McD, so we'd get him. this is a total no brainer to me.

Think Woody Johnson and selling PSLs. Thank God we still have an advantage over the Jets in our ownership and BB (and TFB). Other than that, the Jets are a better team on paper, even without Marshall.
