Jets somehow get a 4 and 7 for Kerry Rhodes

All pats fans hate the Jets, but you still have to be honest and not say "they all suck".

Mark Sanchez got to the AFCCG his rookie year. Sure he had a good defense but watching highlights of the Chargers game, he managed it great. The Bengals game, sure the backup wildcat quarterback did everything.

Saying Sanchez sucked is just stupid, IMO.

Sanchez is only good when they limit him throwing the ball. When he throws more than 20 times in a game they are something like 2-8 last season. He is a good game manager where if the Jets run the ball and he picks his throws he can make great plays, but he isn't a QB you can put the ball in his hands and win the game (see the end of AFC Championship game when they needed him to get them back into it).

Does that make him a bad QB? No. Does that make him worthy of being the 5th pick in the draft? Not yet. Let's not forget his stats for the year was 2,444 yards, 12 TDs, and 20 INTs with a 53.8 completion percentage.

Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl. Sanchez had the best defense and running game backing him up too.

BTW, why is Tannenbaum a genius for getting rid of Rhodes for a fourth and seventh and a genius again for giving a conditional third for Cromartie. I see Rhodes and Cromartie as similiar players. Rhodes was a Pro Bowl caliber safety his first three years in the league. In 2007, he had 67 tackles, 2 sacks, 10 pass defenses, 5 INTs, and 2 forced fumbles. They both have character issues.

Why is it that Cromartie has one great year (actually a 9 game stretch) and character and effort question and considered a steal. Yet, Rhodes had two great years and similiar character and effort issues and considered a bum? Why? Because one tweets and the other only knocks up women. Personally, I think Rhodes has just as good or better chance to rebound to a Pro Bowler than Cromartie since at least Rhodes has shown flashes of his former Pro Bowl caliber self over the last two years.

Kerry Rhodes never was selected for the Pro Bowl, I think he was 2nd team all pro in 06?

Most Jets fans (including me) aren't particularly pleased with the Rhodes deal; I would have expected more value for Rhodes than a 4 (although in a draft this deep, a 4 is more valuable than usual). Hopefully, we plan on signing someone like Atogwe (who would fit in this D quite nicely)

Pro Bowl caliber. In a conference with Ed Reed and Troy Polumalu, you can be an All Pro and not get in. The Pro Bowl is a popularity contest. Being a Pro Bowl caliber player is different than actually getting selected. After Rhodes' 2007 season, he was being compared to Ed Reed as the next Ed Reed.

I like Kerry, I feel he is a pro bowl caliber safety, at least he was a few years ago.

The real question is, how does fake Rodney Harrison on twitter think about the trade?

2 + 2 does NOT equal 4...it equals 4

yup...pure, unadulterated Jet fan logic

the Jets don't play in New Jersey...they play in New Jersey...wassamatta wit youse guys???

There is a diference between All Pro and Pro Bowl.

Rhodes was an up and coming potential All Pro until two years ago when he signed his new deal. Since then, he has been average at best. A change of scenarery and a potential wake up call could turn his career around. Personally, I would bet on him turning it around over Cromartie because he wasn't a flash in a pan in his production.

'Zona had to make this trade and I think they ripped off the Jets. He had a down year but he's still a young, productive safety, and when he's focused he's one of the best in the game. It's not like the Jets got a 2nd rounder or anything. I just hope it doesn't mean that Sharper or Otagwe are on their way to New York.

So do I. Rhodes was one of the better safeties in the NFL a year ago. The fact that he got replaced by Leonard because FatCoach wanted to play his old players doesn't mean hes useless.

Robo, do you have any examples of Rookie QBs who that doesn't apply to?
