Definitely a smart thing to do. The burden on the Pats 2007 season grew too big to be manageable. The playoffs are hard enough without that baggage.

I think Colts management needs to re-think their rest the starters plan. Never worked in the past... why keep doing it?

The mistake in this for the Colts is resting players too much AND their players will be extremely disappointed about just giving up the easy 16-0.

I wouldn't go so far as to say he's showing up his own coach, but it seems clear he's not on the same page as Caldwell.

Amen. The Jets don't scare me at all. The Colts gave them this game when they took their starters off the field. It's easy to look good against an opposing teams backups.

Well, I think resting them for entire games prior to the last week of the season is stupid, but playing them for a half and more is something I've got no problem with.
