Colts barely get by the 49ers today. I think they lose to Houston next week. If the 49ers had a decent QB they would have won. That's 3 games this year where the colts barely win and that's against average teams like jacksonville, SF and Miami.

the colts if they come to us undefeated, will soon lose the title

we just have to hold them to field goals, thats the trick

Seriously they must have the easiest schedule in history? Is their first real tough match up against us?

Gotta stop Reggie Wayne though, that guys phenonomal and Manning reads the blitz so well. SFO hardly brought it but when they did he saw it a mile off and just burned them

During the ESPN (?) pregame they said the 49ers figured out Peyton snapped the ball at the same time on the play clock each play.

49ers are not that good of a team this year but they are the best team the colts have played so far. super soft schedule for indy in the first half

Colts have to have one of the worst running games in the league--but Manning is throwing for 300 yds in every gm it seems. You'd have to think that Manning will have at least one dud gm this year, but it hasn't happened because Manning has gone up against CFL teams this year. All you need is a semi decent pass rush to disrupt their game as they are so one-dimensional. The niners got to Manning today and limited their offense somewhat. I think the Colts may lose one to Houston, BALT, and the Pats. Other than that, they should get a default no. 1 seed unless Pats run the table, which is extremely unlikely.

Watching the game today I was surprised that SF wasn't able to get anything really going with Gore aside from the 1 big run. SF allowing Indy to put up 3 points in :35 before the half was a momentum killer.
SF became one dimensional in the 2nd half.
Indy receivers were dropping some balls, well except for Clark and wayne. Clark is Manning's Wes Welker, always there when Peyton needs to move the chains. I wonder if we'll see McGowan or Merriwether shadowing DC similar to when we had Rodney.

The Colts played good on defense and ST, since the offense didn't have it today.

I'm going to have to do some research...but, I think the Colts have played the weakest teams to start the season in the history of the league.

Before the season, I was sure that we could beat the Colts. Now, I am not so sure. I think we have the tallent. The problem is our ballance. We tend to get a little too focused on the pass, (the Jets game was a great example of this). The Colts are a fast team with a smallish defense. We should be able to run the ball on them, but only if we mix it up creatively and don't become predictable.

Bottom line: We sustain long drives, contain Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark, then we win.

i was over at the colts board today and there is a thread praising the colts for being the number 1 defense in the league. seriously, they've played JV teams so far. The next 4 weeks will be telling for the colts: Houston, NE, Balt, Houston and then the play Denver a few weeks later. They could lose 3-4 games by the end of the season.

If I'm a Colts fan...I'm whistling past the graveyard right now.

Even the decent teams they have beaten....have the worst pass defenses in the league. Which is obviously the Colts strength. (pass offense)

If the Pats can limit Wayne and or Clark somewhat.....they should win in a couple of weeks

So...you think that the Collts have the tallent and the ballance that is necessary to go al the way?

Sagarin has the Colts schedule #28 easiest in the league. It is the easiest of any of the top 10 teams.

Whoa whoa whoa....dont tell the colts this....they have beaten tough teams this season and Peyton is looking amazing.

Oh wait.....December is coming.....

Wait just one second there...
They beat the Jags, who have beaten St Louis, Tampa, and lost to Seattle and are losing big against the Titans today.

Not to mention the big win over Arizona, who is getting whitewashed by Carolina.

And, let's not forget the wins over St Louis, Tennessee, & Seattle (minus Hasselbeck)

Miami's probably their biggest win, errr escape, or maybe it's San Fran?

I'm confident BB and the brains trust have schemed Manning and the Colts. Should be another good game to watch as most Pats-Colts games are.

It's one thing to scheme them. It's another thing to execute, something Patriots teams have been sorely lacking their last several meetings.

But this 2009 team defense is beginning to emerge as the closest thing to the 2003/4 defenses. Quite different, yet quite capable, but RAW. Hopefully the maturation process will continue at the accelerated rate. It will have to to beat the Colts and to be successful in winter 2010.

The Colts have been playing CFL teams the last two months. The meat(or should I say tofu) of Indy's schedule is in the second half. They play NE, BALT, NYJ, DEN, @BUF, HOU times 2

Those are all decent to very good teams. We'll see what they are made of in November.

the team's the colts have faced are 17-33

the team's the pats have faced are 22-28

only denver and the falcons right now are more then one game over 500 out of all the team's the pats have played

maybe when the pats play the colts they blow the door's off of them but you cant knock the colts for winning all there game's

Yeah I agree here, our D looks good but a bit raw. Maybe they are still working on the communication and trusting their insticts but these things are coming out. I think our offense will always be solid with TFB (I do like Volmer on the left side, he is a beast, wonder how that will work out..) however our D is what I enjoy seeing the most...remember...
