Let's just pretend for a minute that one of these things went down, regardless of how unlikely it may seem at the moment. Which one would make your toes curl more?

Re: Taking all logic out of it... Which senerio would you be happiest with on Saturda

Curry falls past the cheifs and Seahawks and we trade up to 8 or 10 and get him. However, thats very wishful thinking.

Having a franchise LT to secure TB's blindside...
I think I read somewhere Light gave up 7 sacks last year... and that's not even counting the pressures he gave up.

Light - once the rookie is ready- can either play RG or RT.
Though I would like a Mauler RT I realize this is wishful thinking bc BB likes his guys mobile. But surely there's big mobile guys out there. Then let 310 lb Light play RG.

I'll go with Curry to the Pats as I've pretty much given up on Peppers, plus fitting in Pepper's salary would be problematic, much as I like him as a player. Seems a low chance of either happening though.

I took other. I'd rather see them trade out of 23 to pick up more picks for 2010 and then use the 4 (one in the trade down) picks in the second round to rebuild the defense for the future.

Why not both? Curry falls to 8 and we trade 23 + 58 to move up. Then we trade 34 + 89 to get Peppers, who signs for $8-10M/year. Then we draft a safety like Delmas/Moore/Chung at 47.

That would give us an LB corps of Peppers-Curry-Mayo-Thomas, behind a front line of Seymour-Wilfork-Warren. That would be epic. By far the best front 7 in the NFL, potentially one of the best front 7's ever. And our secondary would be greatly improved from 2008, arguably the best we've had since 2003.

Trade Maroney for a 2010 2nd round pick as well if you feel like it, then go for OT and possibly DE or RB in 2010.

The Patriots package their first 4 picks and move up to get Oher and a falling Curry.

They use picks 97, 170 and 207 since they are compensatory picks and the team has no choice. Picks 89,124,199 and 234 are used for playing around, with at least one of them (preferably 89 unless a major prospect from above makes a precipitous fall) pushed into next year's draft for a pick one round higher. Theoretically, those picks could be bundled to get into the 50s if that falling player syndrome were to occur.

interesting situation. i dont think curry will get past 10 and I dont suppose Oher will get past 12. in fact, i think oher will go top 9. according to the value charts we couldnt get both if that were to happen, BUT, who knows if this scenario is or isnt possible. ive been saying this for months, and lately ive heard a buzz about teams not following the draft value charts. so it is something to consider. although, 2 top 10 picks would be very pricey

Close enough.

BB passed on ReyMal at least twice. That tells me what he thought of ReyMal.

BB passed on ReyMal at least twice. That tells me what he thought of ReyMal.

It tells us what he thought of every 1st day linebacker available in this year's draft actually. I think BB has a stealth agreement to sign JT.
It's funny as much as we were tearing down the LBers available in this draft, maybe BB saw the same flaws?

Conclusion: Unless they are impact linebackers like Willis, Mayo, or Curry, BB considers linebackers to be fungible. And he'd rather spend his money to sign proven linebackers in free agency.
