Mayock ranks Ayers as third best player in the draft!

I agreee with your comments.

My question is who I would expect to get more production from over four years: Robiskie, Nicks or Britt? My guess would be Robskie.

I think Robiskie is benefiting from the general unpredictability of WR picks. With so many "diamonds in the rough" and character questions, a team that hopes to plug a rookie wideout right into their lineup is likely to overdraft Robiskie as a polished prospect who carries himself like a pro -- rather than as an elite talent.

That's a good question. I am a pretty big Buckeye fan too, so obviously I like Robiskie. I think his bloodlines are a plus, and I'm sure he picked up some great advice and tips over the yrs from his dad. My only question with him would be whether or not he was involved in the offense enough, as I would expect his output to be a lot less than Nicks and Britt. With Pryor at the helm this yr, and Beanie Wells a major part of the offense, Brian was the major deep threat, but probably wasn't used enough in Terrell's first yr. I know that Tressel is a great coach, who teaches his players how to become men on and off the field in every situation, so he'd have that going for him too. If there would be a Belichickian type coach in the NCAA's, Tressel would surely be on the list. So I would surely say that Robiske received the best coaching, between Tressel and his father, who obviously is a WR coach for the Browns.

Nicks would be my last choice for sure, as Britt set Big East records for WR, and has tremendous upside with his raw talent. He ran a 4.40, is big, was heavily involved in the offense, and may have the most actual talent and potential out of the 3. But Brian Robiskie may have the best morals and values. On another note, Massaquoi is climbing up a lot of 2nd round boards too, as we had him in for a visit.

H'mmm, 'potential first round picks in bold'...

Always an interesting thing to note coming from Gosselin.

yes, I noticed that. It would be great if his "potential first round picks" predictions are correct.

It was very disappointing reading the reaction of some of the poster after Gosselin first mock draft.

The problems of the posters were primarily a problem of reading comprehension. Gosselin's first and second "mocks" are not mocks at all. The first is a value board, the second is the top 32 based on needs. The third and final Gosselin mock is his one and only mock each year. I believe he posts this on the morning of the draft.

Is Ayers a pure DE or a potential DE/OLB project?

He's a potential DE/LB project. He played ILB in high school and has reasonable mobility. Tennessee moved him around a lot and used him some at LB. He doesn't have terrific speed. I'm not sure whether he would project to OLB or inside to SILB.

You could say the same about Mayock. A handful of guys like Mike, Rick, Lombardi and Shefter (who gets his spoon fed to NFLN as opposed to ESPN these days) have made their bones as much as well connected draft day predictors as pre draft talent evaluators and need based match predictors. What they offer before draft day eve is based on what they think a team will or should or might do based solely on their own (or concensus) team and player scouting and evaluations.

This goes to his Cutler love from and since the 2007 draft. Denver went into the toilet from the moment Jake the Snake was benched and Cutler was handed the reigns, Mayock is just as protective of his binky as any of the rest of us. I'd wish Chicago's season in the toilet, but I think that is a moot point.

I like Mayock but he has become totally unglued by the Cutler situation...and in my opinion lost all professionalism. The day of the trade he morphed into something seething so openly and irrationally that his cast mates on NFLN were visibly ascared to tangle with him on it...LOL One of the things I enjoyed about him up until now was his understated demeanor and resistance to succomb to the knuckleheaded out shout your co-anchors mentality that has developed at NFLN just as it did at ESPN before it.
