Now with the T.O. in the division, have the Pats actually confirmed Shawn Springs' signing? All I've seen is he is "expected" to sign, unless I missed it.

I believe NFL network said it was a 3 yr deal worth a maximum value of 12.8 mill

I heard the best game he had last year was shutting down TO.

Which means BB was way ahead of the Bills by signing someone who could shut down the guy they would sign a week later.

Google shows several stories on Thursday confirming the signing, but with no details.

The Pats have not confirmed the signing. This sometimes takes a few days.

The Pats haven't officially announced it or issued a press release on it yet.

NFL.com lists Shawn Springs under transactions for March 5th, but in the news stories I've read, the only definitive thing reported is that the two sides reached an "agreement." While it's likely Springs has been signed, he's still not onboard while the contract is being massaged.

That is correct. And always take NFL.com transactions with a grain of salt, they're not official. Only ProFootballWeekly's.com are.

Can someone please explain to me how the league's official site doesn't have the official transaction list, but another site that would have to get that information from the league itself does?

Springs is NOT on the NFLPA site as of today.

..

How unusual is that a few days after a supposed signing?? Is that normal?? Or something that happens once in awhile?? Since I don't go into the NFLPA site or others looking at transactions...to see when if they appear..it's certainly a legitimate question.
Might they be waiting to tweak a contract or two BEFORE?
