Felger was ahead of the curve on this issue in the preseason. He's not trashing Matt Cassell, just pointing out that depth at QB matters.

Newsflash to douchebag Felger, no one has depth at QB, if they did they would be starting somewhere else. Cassel is fine.

honestly i don't think it was a bad report. he said he thought cassel was better than what we saw in the preseason. he said he's willing to be wrong on cassel and cassel proving him wrong

the only "i told you so" was the pats preparing depth at qb in case of an injury like this.

If you'd been talking about the backup QB for weeks, and getting absolutely killed for it, wouldn't you feel vindicated (not happy) too? Anyone who says Felger seems gleeful or whatever here is watching a different vid from me, he seems pretty bummed imo. Even some of the most ardent Pats haters I know aren't celebrating this like you'd think they might, I know Felger is the villain in our little imaginary world but I don't get the criticism here. What could he have said that people wouldn't have a problem with?

We have been preparing Cassel as depth for this situation for 4 years. And when he wasn't ready we had Flutie, Testaverde etc...

The coaches clearly have FAITH in Cassel based on the loads of time they have seen him in practice over 4 years, but the media and fans only get to see an extremely limited sample. Now we MIGHT get to see what the coaches saw in him and realize we had depth all along.
