I saw Connelly and Koppen get beaten, esp. late in the game when it counted. Without Mankins and the acceptable OTs, we would have been beaten even worse. Connelly and Koppen got their asses kicked.
Makes me wish for the guy just out of reach for us in 2009, Alex Mack, who has proved himself a bigger & better center than Koppen, whose weight gets to the low 290s by the season's end, I think.
Just not powerful enough. I wish we had a bruiser like Mack. Six four and a little over 310.
i want a John Hannah clone and than maybe we can run the Da&& ball.
John Hannah is listed at 265 pounds. I'm not sure he's what they need
The patriots don't draft road graders. We require that guards be pulling guards not road graders.
All the more reason to draft a guy high if they think he can be both.
That would probably mean a tackle conversion ala Mankins more than pure interior OL.

Do you know who he was and ever seen him play for us?
Clint Boling currently has a fourth round grade.I hope he is around at pick #33..

According to them that is true, but remember they had Vollmer with what a fifth round grade?
Bottom line is Boling projects extremely well into our zone blocking scheme, better than any interior O line player I have seen in years.
This kid is the one player BB MUST come away from this draft with, even if we keep Mankins. One year with Dante to work out a few bugs and we plug him into the starting lineup.
My choice for an OL would be John Moffitt from Wisconson. He is 6'4" 323lbs. He plays both center and guard. Has experience at both positions. He would fit the BB idea of flexibilty and would be an instant upgrade at the center size wise where Koppen gets tossed around like a rag doll.
This is my FIRST post so fire away.

I'm sure there is a John Hannah clone available. While we are at it hopefully we can add an Anthony Munoz clone at T, a Jerry Rice clone at WR, a Jim Brown clone at RB, and a Lawrence Taylor clone at OLB.
