Gronk needs an off-season chaperone

Okay...it's not about you. It's about the rest of us being subjected to this idiots blather and attempts to derail threads because you can't seem to help but take him seriously. You're not going to turn him into an informed fan. He's a troll. At some point a kindly mod will ban him for bringing nothing but insults and idiocy to every thread he enters. In the meantime it helps if folks just ignore them. Sometimes they just go away. Unless someone insists on engaging them.

Well if it offended you then I apologize.

That obviously wasn't the intent.

I always assume that since we deal with plenty of back and forth pissing matches for 4-5 pages at a time, spending a page or two trying to get someone to understand or see differently isn't any different, and if someone doesn't wish to read it they can go to another thread or forum.

Sure, that's the other side of the coin and you have a point.

The problem or concern is that we've seen this type of behavior before, specifically when it comes to being injured.

At some point the team needs to step in and make sure their new multi-million dollar investment is putting his employers above all else and not making the kind of mistakes that a middle school kid who is 14 would make.

yes....because this is the new england patriots, and here everyone must behave cerebrally.

you know what? It's not your damned concern.......you didn't sign him to the contract, and you're not paying him

he doesn't answer to any of you

now...as far as a Gronk chaperone goes....I VOLUNTEER!!....wha?...why are you people looking at me like that?...I'll keep my eye on the big lug...it'll be hard keeping all that young female flesh from being pressed up against him but I sure will try my dyam best to get between him and temptation!

The two of you together wouldn't be any different, sad to say. You may actually hurt the situation even more by showing him new ways to get in trouble.

and you should stop calling people names......

get him to the greek

The thought of the Gronk wrestling with a broken arm anywhere gets me sick.

He really does need to take things down a notch.

If you don't think that the organization itself tends to hold their players to a higher standard altogether (which isn't even the point) then I'm not sure what to tell you.

The fact remains now that this is the 2nd time in a year that he has been injured enough to effect the team negatively in the biggest stage of the season, yet he's managed to wrestle with an arm broken in 2 places, and also made the all intelligent decision of running up the wrong way escalator backwards on a broken ankle.

If that doesn't warrant concern from the front office in protecting their new multi-million dollar investment than I'm not sure what would.

He has the rare opportunity to make millions of dollars at the age of 23, but he also needs to show respect to his employers by putting the team first above brilliant decisions like wrestling with a broken arm.

It's idiotic.

I wrestled with two broken ribs, hurt like hell.

I wrestled with two broken ribs, hurt like hell.

yeah but an arm is a little different...broken ribs can hurt on every single breath..he had a cast on.

I did stupid **** with my cast on when i broke my ankle in HS. After the first week i felt nothing after being on pain meds for the first week. and felt like the cast was a giant cinder block and nothing could get through it...trust me i tired..those casts are no joke

I wrestled with two broken ribs, hurt like hell.

that's odd..I wrestled with two smokin' strippers and it hurt so good, I came back the next Monday night and did it again!...hello???...is this thing on???..tap tap tap..

Joker you are incorrigible. Are you sure you have not already volunteered to chaperone Gronk? Wasn't that you on the stage with him?

I think this is the key sentence though, you did it in high school. A time period where most of us make stupid decisions because we don't know any better.

I definitely get what guys like illegalcontact are saying, hell I brought that aspect up myself earlier, at least this isn't anything that should be looked at as "that" big of a deal in terms of breaking the law etc.

There are potentially 2 issues here:

1. This isn't a one time deal where someone is overly scrutinized for making a bad choice. This is 2/2 on the injury front. I couldn't care less what he's doing with porn stars or whether or not he dances after they lose the SB. It's the fact that he's done at least 3 questionable things while injured now, which is the entire reason for concern.

2. After watching the ESPN special on Gronkowski, I came away with the feeling that the club had indeed talked to him last year and told him to tone it down and make better choices. I think that Gronk strongly hinted at this. If this is true then he has now possibly ignored that talk, which is also a concern.

Other than that, I don't think it's fair of us to try and judge him for some immature behavior as long as it doesn't jeapordize his health or injuries.

He EASILY could have broken the forearm a third time (or his neck) with that kind of horsing around.

How about you actually watch the video and look to see that his LEFT ARM isn't in any danger of being broken. Neither is his neck. Seriously. You are over-reacting something fierce and it's kinda pathetic.

Much ado about NOTHING.

First and foremost, he had his RIGHT ARM around the other guys head when he fell backwards. The left arm wasn't even a part of the move.

Seriously, people.

Please, tell me you're kidding DaBruinz. You've got to be.

If fans were aware of half the stuff Gronk does when the cameras aren't around, they'd probably want him in a straight jacket for the off season. Some people are just reckless crazies. If that's removed from Gronk's equation he might become just another TE. To quote The Kurgan, "It's better to burn out than fade away!"

sorry Deb...yes..sometimes I get carried away...these days I live vicariously through the hijinks and exploits of youngsters like Gronk...and anybody who thinks there's no such as a dirty old man...well...guess what? YOU'RE RIGHT!....now excuse me, I have a bible reading to attend at the Foxy...er....Foxboro Baptist church...

I don't care. He shouldn't be clubbing and drinking alcohol like he just turned 21. His behavior shows a lack of maturity. How can that benefit him? Lack of sleep, alcohol, wrestling, etc can all lead to injuries. Are you suprised he he got injured when he doesn't seem to take care of his body? I'm not. He obviously won't listen, because he wants to have fun. I was disgusted when i saw him dancing after the last superbowl loss. Do you remember that? This kid has no respect maturity and it's costing the team.

Rob Gronkowski danced the Super Bowl loss away

The right arm was around the guy's head, left arm hit the deck. Put your spectacles on.

From the video's written caption: .. when the superstar tight end BODY SLAMMED his friend on stage at a Las Vegas nightclub ... landing hard on his broken forearm ... and TMZ has the footage.

Regardless, evidence anecdotal and otherwise is mounting that Gronk does not hold his booze well. Intervention at some level might be wise.
