Personally, I'm always most concerned about a team's psyche
right before they enter the playoffs; their final state before the playoffs begin. And I do mean across all sports.
Ergo, when I say that I'm not optimistic, I'm pointing at the state of the team spanning the last 6 weeks. And I'm not just stating that because they lost 4 of their last 6. Rather, it's because of
how they played. It appears many have been making excuses for this team every single week of late up to this one. The MIA game was simply a culmination of where they've been headed...where they are at, now. Ya know, they say you're only as good as your last gig.
Who can they beat right now? How about playoff teams that finished strongly?
And some will argue that players will come back and they'll be fine. Got it. Are they just going to "plug in" and make it all better, even thought the team has been been trending downward for the past 6 weeks?
IMO, the coach has to fix this. And he has to fix it for the duration of the season, else the threads will change quickly to the draft, player predictions, and how great next year's season might be.
