And that appeal would have been rejected by the league in a second. In the end, the only real chance to get what the league has stolen from us is going to court and even that chance is pretty small according to most sports lawyers on Twitter.
We will never know that. An appeal with all of the Wells Report Context info, that put the Deflator, the Dorito Dink, Giardi, Kensil, Vincent, Wells and Exponent on the stand, and ripped the scab off the whole ordeal and exposed the bloody pus-filled mess underneath it, would have at the least been compelling evidence to reduce the penalties, if not abolish them.
It sure would have been worth a try.

People say that the time wasn't there, thing is, just like Brady's 4 games, could a judge not order that the picks be put back a season or have everyone agree that a result happen before the draft starts like what Berman agreed to do.. have done before September season start.
I would think that the Patriots could get a stay, meaning that losing the draft pick would cause irreparable harm, so the court would force the NFL to reinstate the pick while the whole matter was adjudicated.
I still think the FBI should be involved.
There are many thing the NFL does which the FBI should get involved into.

I would agree with you if that appeal would have been heard by someone independent but do you really think that a brainless moron like Goodell would admit he was wrong? Not a chance. The league is taking this pathetic farce all the way.

This still doesn't explain why he publicly endorses a commissioner who unjustly penalized his team and is still trying to get his #1 employee suspended for something he didn't do. Also, maybe the league would have backed off and settled out of court if Kraft did file a lawsuit.

Depends how compelling the case is, depends on how hard Kraft worked to make sure the hearing was as public as possible. I'll put it this way. If Kraft played by the slimy rules the NFL did, there is a decent chance Goodell could have been backed into a corner.
 
Even though I'm not happy with the loss of the picks I think now after the Krafts said what they said, there is a 99.99999% chance they get don't get anything returned ($ or picks) and EVERYBODY should just deal with it. It's gone with the '07 pick. Bob Kraft knows it and should just come out and say so. Why give SOME people hope or this continue with this "rhetoric" that should really stop. He wants us to do his fighting for him or I'm not sure what his exact angle is but he has one. Maybe it's to appease some fans that turned against him. Does he think we/they are that naive? Pick a side Bob, don't waver. And we know you basically have.

Lots of reasons..Solidarity. Never trash an employee publicly. Pressure to support him from other owners. Senility. Viagra having lasting effects. Drunkenness.

Goodell had the support of many owners - facts were immaterial.
Blame Goodell at will ... this was a mob hit by a pack of owners ... Goodell is the pawn hit man.

By the way I replied to your insulting post to me yesterday, the one where you called me a loser for changing your words, by quoting your words to show I didn't change them, but have not seen your reply.
 
Monetary damages may not be as inconsequential as JK implies. What if the monetary compensation is in the form of an extra $7M or $8M that could be tacked onto the team's salary cap for the next four years? That seems like a reasonable way to compensate for the loss of a first-round pick.

Fans are invested in the team, ownership screwed up royaly. Kraft knows the fans are upset and he still kowtows to Godell. Kraft runs many fine businesses. He knows in business your are accountable for your actions. He is a big boy, let him take his lumps.
 
Two things make it relevant.

1) The Draft is in a month and people are really pissed off about no first rounder, and will get even angrier as it gets closer and then happens.

2) Robert Kraft continues to come out and support Roger Goodell, which is as stupid as it is outrageous. Patriot fans literally hate Roger Goodell and know he is too blame for this matter, and for Kraft to say " Great Job Roger" is to give every Patriot fan the middle finger. All he had to do was say "no comment," but he just can't help himself and continues to say stupid sh.t like this. I honestly cannot understand why those around him have not made this clear to him but I have a feeling that the firestorm he created this time may actually get that message through.


1 - understandable although there is nothing that can be done about it....mistakes were made but Kraft still has to play in the club he's in.....easy for people with only a bit of entertainment at stake to act like they have the right answers...... The anger is hilarious and so incredibly stupid at this point

2 - has zero impact in the product in the field.....it's a pathetic soap opera that is nothing more than a distraction from the real reason for being here....to watch football

At this point the only thing left is Brady's legal proceedings
