Bad News for Kraft haters

His said that it wouldn't be done in time to get the picks back.
Had they started the process the day the punishment was meted out, that would not be the case.
Going to court was never the smartest play anyway. The ball was dropped when Kraft gave up and did not exercise his right to appeal.
Everything since has been PR.

illegal, the problem is that mr bendover Kraft was publicly demanding apology from the NFLand then he completely reversed into that he is accepting punishment for the sake of other 31 teams and fans. His statements are only for PR.

“But even if you did go to court, you go to court you win money damages.

Yeah, if money damages are the only thing you ask for. Weak sauce, Jonathan.
Totally taken out of context to fit your narrative. Time was the real issue. What he's saying, if you read between the lines, is that a court case to get the picks awarded back would have come and gone by the time the draft was over with appeals upon appeals. Is Brady's case settled yet? If it was about money this would have been over in no time.

Thanks for the input though Mr. "I woulda pointed my finger and yelled wicked loud!"

It's reality vs. perception. They should have *****ed louder to make you feel better.

It seems to me that the outcome for you is basically irrelevant. Soapbox grandstanding is the answer.

the pats just made a mockery of the punishment by bringing in a bunch of players as well as an additional 2nd round pick......I choose to run with that since the only real value is what happens on the field.....except to a bunch of yahoos

LOL. If there is not a smoking gun I expect an apology.
Wait, I expected an apology and got docked 2 picks a million bucks and my GOAT was suspended, and there is no proof?.
OK, I demand an opportunity to get on TV and explain why I am accepting penalties for doing nothing wrong.
Wait, I'm going to establish a website to show how wrong it is. I won't do anything with it but I demand someone look at it and do something.
OK, I demand you let me write a letter that you can ignore so I can tell the fans I wrote one.
OK, I demand more hugs Roger.

Alright, guys. I know "Kraft" is becoming a dirty word around here for some, but let's try to keep it relatively civil... We can discuss how we love/hate the team's owner and his decisions without attacking each other.

Great Job Roger.............
where does that happen? hormone-land?

You're the one who started the thread, you tell me? Kraft is supporting the very person who is lying about his franchise and then punishing them based on those lies. That's gutless and deserves criticism.

nope, IMO there is a huge difference between trying your best and losing vs folding like a lawn chair.

what does tom Brady have to do with what Jonathan Kraft said regarding draft picks?

I'm talking about the false idea that you can only go to court to sue for money, when that is not true. You go to court for a variety of different remedies, with money being one of them. Brady did not go to court for money, yet here we are, at the moment with the NFL being unable to suspend him. That's what Brady has to do with what Jonathan Kraft said regarding the legal system and its remedies.

For the record, as critical as I am of Kraft's handling of the situation, I do not necessarily think they should have gone to court...can't say yes or no at this point. What they should have done was, at the very least, taken the first step that was wide open to them and simply appealed the penalties, which is quite commonplace in the NFL (see Kansas City Chiefs.) That would have at least given the appearance that the Patriots were in disagreement over the sanctions and whether or not a violation actually happened. The NFL played the game of public opinion while Kraft played the game of helping the NFL's public opinion campaign. It's not that difficult a concept to grasp.

So, Jonathan Kraft is somewhat correct that suing the league wouldn't serve much purpose. Of course, he needs to say something considering the Patriots do not even have an option to go to court. They elected not to use the league's own appeal system, a prerequisite for courts to actually hear their arguments.

Though I'l ask this: what if the league had fined the Patriots $500 Million? At some point going to court doesn't sound so futile or senseless, does it? Do you think a court would let the NFL fine the Patriots for a billion dollars? Ban Brady for life? Translation: in the big picture, the penalties are not worth the legal fight because it's not a big enough deal (for the owners, not the fans, who feel it is a big enough deal.)

Jonathan Kraft is go to tow the team line, not just because he is a good employee but because he is a good son. I would actually lose respect for the guy if he came out and publicly opposed his own father.

Now you gotta hate the kid, too

Jonathan Kraft explains why Patriots didn’t sue NFL over Deflategate

common sense.....nothing more

all the shoulda coulda woulda needs to be parked in a dumpster and people should really move on because your *****ing is pointless and will achieve nothing

Illegal's Contrarian Logic:

"what are you going to stop watching?"

"Go find another team"

' pick is gone....... no use talking about it' (although will post a pro-kraft link to continue the conversation)

Felger must be a proud papa.

People say that the time wasn't there, thing is, just like Brady's 4 games, could a judge not order that the picks be put back a season or have everyone agree that a result happen before the draft starts like what Berman agreed to do.. have done before September season start.

I still think the FBI should be involved.

Great Job Roger.............

you have a point......Kraft deserves to be criticized for the way he handled this situation.....and he was

I just figured it wouldn't bring people to whining the same whine over and over and over again........just as gutless and just as deserving of criticism given you have options.....as in turning your back on the team if it is so damned bad....why would anyone spend a year complaining and still subject themselves to the same thing

the answer is even more pathetic

Great Job Roger.............
I'm engaged, but the end result is the NFL and the Patriots are losing a customer for their goods.

Ex., it was made clear to everyone last Christmas that I didn't want any Patriots or NFL gear this year.

It generally falls upon deaf ears but this is the only actual, recourse we have as fans, don't give then our money anymore. I used to buy and wear patriots hats and sweatshirts but stopped when this happened. Now it's only the Bruins as far as sports wear goes. I will never buy another Patriot hat or shirt and don't want them as gifts either. If all Patriot fans did the same it would have some impact but that will never happen.

OMFG....the strength, the courage.....how do you do it?

Two things make it relevant.

1) The Draft is in a month and people are really pissed off about no first rounder, and will get even angrier as it gets closer and then happens.

2) Robert Kraft continues to come out and support Roger Goodell, which is as stupid as it is outrageous. Patriot fans literally hate Roger Goodell and know he is too blame for this matter, and for Kraft to say " Great Job Roger" is to give every Patriot fan the middle finger. All he had to do was say "no comment," but he just can't help himself and continues to say stupid sh.t like this. I honestly cannot understand why those around him have not made this clear to him but I have a feeling that the firestorm he created this time may actually get that message through.
