Does this dunderhead really want to get into it with Tom Brady? Because Brady will wipe his stupid show off the map.

Re: Brady on BIG show right now

Well what would Belichick have done if Brady managed to get the ball to the 31 with a few seconds left in the game?

There's a difference between having confidence in your offense and having no faith in your kicker. Honestly, if you dare not trot your kicker out for a 48-yarder and choose to go for 4th-and-13 instead, then you don't have a complete football team.

Actually, according to a statistical analysis--which, IIRC, the Patriots were among one of only a hanful of NFL teams who ever contacted the author--if you have the ball on fourth down anywhere between the 20s, it is almost always better to go for it than to kick or punt (yes, even if you have 4th and 10 on your 20, going for it is still at least marginally better than punting).

And, as I've pointed out before, if the Pats don't trust Gostkowski, why haven't they brought in any other kickers?

If this had happened in the 1st quarter, I wouldn't have lost much sleep over it. Go for the throat early, if you don't convert, so what, plenty of more possessions ahead....HOWEVER at that point in the Super Bowl the Pats were having problems getting 10 yards in THREE plays, so what made Belichick think that he was due for a 13-yard gainer on 4th down? Not to mention the premium on points in what was obviously a defensive slugfest. Stats and probabilities are helpful, but common sense is crucial.

And, as I've pointed out before, if the Pats don't trust Gostkowski, why haven't they brought in any other kickers?

My point was that the Pats were hesitant to trust the long-range kicking game in the SB. Belichick let Gostkowski nail one from 45 against the Giants in Week 17, I don't see what the problem was in an indoor stadium.

LOL @ Brady. I guess that Pats are blue collar and should be respected for cheating.

ESPN, that four-letter network, might as well be called 'Everything Sox and Patriots Network', as it licks the hinies of the Red Sox and Patriots and Celts every chance they get. What is John Tom Brady talking about, nobody on ESPN ever has a negative thing to say about the Pats.

Thank goodness there is some media outlet out there willing to defame the Pats and cost them a chance at history. THANK YOU Boston Herald. For you are like every media outlet is towards every NY team.
What do we have here? How about them Rats ahh jesters Troll?

No, not a troll. Just DO NOT like hypocrisy. I like winning with class, and maybe if that guy in New Hampshire that got mowed down by the female Yankees fan had learned about winning with class, he'd still have his life.

Yeah you're not a troll.

GTFO

Did you get lost looking for your bridge?

To post a rant like you did,you can't be much of a fan of these teams. I don't like hypocrisy either, but to stand behind espn with all that they've done to keep this story alive and on the front burner you might as well be a troll.

That's what ESPN has become. ESPN, to me, is like MTV without the videos

Truer words have never been spoken. The NBA turned into MTV a long time ago, and ESPN is just about there.

If someone is around a tv, I hear First take will bash Brady over his comments..

i heard it on first take and they basically said there is some truth to Brady's comments. However, this is something that the Patriots brought upon themselves. I see their point and like any overblown coverage, the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

What amazed me about that interview is what a machine Brady really is. WOW. He watched tape of the Super Bowl loss the day after they landed in Boston and several more times on the NFL network, that's insane!!. During the interview, the guy was talking about missed plays to Welker in the 2nd quarter that us diehards will have a hard time remembering. Don't let Brady's mysterious escapades with Gisele fool you, he remembers this game more than we do and probably cares about it just as much.

Sad, but ESPN is a shell of it's former self. They are horrible. Truth and honesty are not important. Just former athletes trying to become relative again.

hahahahaha i love brady

In unrelated news.....this morning ESPN's ranking the QB's Tom Brady is now the 43rd best QB in the NFL. Peyton Manning has the #1 spot. Tom Brady falls squarely between Henne and Losman.

:)

Funny, I didn't hear Brady bashing ESPN when they were talking about the Pats every 30 minutes during the season. I'm not a fan of ESPN, but Brady was helped made a star by ESPN. I respect thehell out of Brady and how he made him into a star QB. But right now, he has entered the Dan Marino "whining girl" phase of his career. :rocker:

Brady was not made a star by ESPN. He became a star by winning 3SB and breaking the most TDs thrown.

What in the world are you talking about? Are you Marv Levy's age? And like Marv Levy are you considering retirement because you can't cut it anymore?
