This kinda surprised me a bit, so let me explain. My girlfriend (fiance' very soon; I am actually proposing the day before Christmas Eve in Boston) didn't know much about football at all prior to us meeting. She watches every game that I watch every Sunday (we watch Red Zone when the Pats aren't on) and obviously we never miss a snap of the Patriot games.

She made a comment to me after this Jets game that I found interesting, coming from someone with very limited football knowledge. She told me that when she sees Brady play, that to her, it doesn't look fair. It looks as if he is playing a different game than everyone else and that he clearly is superior to all of the other quarterbacks she has watched this season.

Its not a stunning revelation, but it was nice to know that to a complete stranger to the game of football, he (and the Patriots) still look "different".

My totally-uninterested-in-sports Mom has a cute way of naming things. If she didnt have a Pats fan for a son, she'd probably refer to them as "the blue-and-white guys" :D

Brady is Mr. Steal Yo Girl so you might want to watch your back ;)

It's an honest observation and a very good one. Funny how Brady's "down games" are still superior to most quarterback's "good games." Whenever we have the ball and are down late in the game, I always have a comfortable sense that Brady's going to do it. Most clutch QB of all time and it aint close

Best of luck to you in your engagement.

Be prepared for things changing after she closes the deal.

That's why Gotohell keeps trying to knock them back a notch. He's trying to level the playing field. What he doesn't realize is that it makes them stronger. Duma55

Yeah. Anybody remember watching Bobby Orr play hockey?

On that same note I think sometimes we could benefit from taking a step back and looking at the big picture when the Patriots win tough games like this one against bad teams or lose to the Seahawks. EVERY team has weaknesses. You couldn't have paid me to bet on Denver's 2015 offense being good enough to win a SB with. We see the Pats every single week and their flaws are magnified. Truth is every team has flaws, some much more back breaking and the Pats will always stand a fighter's chance as long as BB and Brady are here

Sounds like you fell for the old "NAME OF BOYFRIEND'S FAVORITE PLAYER HERE plays chess while everybody else plays checkers" trick.

You might want to wait until Valentine's Day to pop the question, though. If she says yes on the 23rd, forget about watching the playoffs. You'll be too busy on weekends crossing off friends from the wedding invite list, picking out china patterns, kitchen gadgets, tuxedos etc.

Oh, and you can kiss NFL Red Zone goodbye.

Honestly, it's not like the league was putting up any resistance to the Donkeys' "march to glory" last year...

...more like it was greasing the red carpet for them...

God, ain't that the truth. I got engaged shortly after SB36, and she was all into it. Got married in 2003 and she pretty much jumped ship during the height of the dynasty.

She's come to a couple games with me since, but...yep...

That's funny. Like you said, it's not stunning or anything, but it is interesting how quickly you can see a difference. I remember my mom watching a game and saying something similar about Walter Payton.

I was reading another team's forum. And even though we lost the game, they were talking about the Seahawks / Pats game... And basically the guy said something like "I hate to admit it, but when I watch those two teams play, I feel like I am watching an entirely different sport".

I had a Ravens fan say something similar to me a couple weeks ago.
