Ridley has three offers on the table

@OmarKelly: I'm told former Patriots tailback Stevan Ridley has offers from the Dolphins, Jets and Redskins.

Skins might offer a decent offense for him (run centric), but they have Alfred Morris as the top back, so he wouldn't be the lead dog. Same with the NYJ and Chris Ivory. The Dolphins won't run it as much as the other two teams, but he has a clear shot at claiming the lead RB job there.

Sucks we don't have a spot for him. Go to the deadskins Rid!

No, we don't have a spot. We have Gray starting our first game and Gaffney backing him up. We also have Gray and Gaffney as the starter and backup for 2016.

I strongly disagree with those here who think that we don't have a need at running back.

For some reason I have a feeling he is going to be playing for the Dolphins this year....I wish him good luck, just not when he is playing against us. lol

I mean we'd take him if he wanted to come here but it doesn't make much sense for him. Backfield is way too crowded for it to make sense. He should be begging Dallas to take him imo.

If I am him I take the biggest guaranteed check ...
Wonder if he would take less to stay in the division???

Crowded? Is that because you think that Gray is a lock? or Gaffney?

Don't know if bridges are burned on either side but if these are the only offers he has then NE can probably offer him the best chance of earning a starting job. Thought he might go to Dallas or Atlanta, maybe even SD or Oak but if they're not offering anything then NE would seem preferable from a playing standpoint to the those three. Gray (other than two games) and Gaffney are unproven and shouldn't be considered roster locks. Not sure I'm crazy about the idea of just Blount, Gray and Gaffney going into next season, either a FA or draft pick should be added.

3 offers and I'm betting they are all for about the same package. Something with a vet minimum guarantee and an additional million in production incentives. It probably the same deal he can get at any time from about a half dozen more teams around the league...including the Pats.

Ridley was a very good RB with an unjustified rep as a chronic fumbler. He was one of those guys who REALLY loved being a Patriot and all it entailed. While he was here he embraced the Patriot Way. It was a shame how he got hurt. If he doesn't return, I wish him only the best, except those days he plays against us.

I like Ridley and I like Blount but neither are must start guys. RB1 and RB2 could use an upgrade.

I don't believe Ridley is in a position to be real choosy about his next contract. He's closer to being out of the NFL than having teams bid for his services.

Sucks for him, but, you know what they say: it is what it is.

JAG running backs coming off ACL reconstruction aren't hot properties, even for bad teams that will hand out big free agent contracts to any ol' fool player.

It seems that Ridley can indeed by choosy; he has t least three choices.

As others have said, if I were Ridley, the guaranteed money would be important.

"JAG running backs" or "1000 yard running backs who start for playoff teams". I guess folks are entitled to their perspective. Personally, I would think that, barring injury, Ridley would have started for the rest of 2014, and would now have a fine contract from someone for 2015, perhaps from the patriots.

Of course, we smugly sit here, so satisfied with a future of Gray and Gaffney.

If any of the offers were worth a damn, he probably would have chosen one... :)

It's too bad for him that Ridley wasn't unrestricted free agent on the open market back a long time ago when he had one good year and back before he was benched and back before he blew out his ACL. That's what I mean. Sucks for him, but it is what it is. 773 yards in 2013. 340 yards last year. He's never really been a factor in the passing game.

mg has a mouse in his pocket... :)

I am surprised that he only drew interest from teams that have clear #1 RBs. He will have a hard time getting into the starting line up on any of those teams. I would say that he has the best shot at unseating Chris Ivory in NY, but if he doesn't he is a similar back to Ivory and will have a tough time getting snaps.
