dude, I really REALLY respect Philip's game.
I was actually proclaiming the Giants losers in that deal two years ago. Loved him in college. He's arguably the best QB to come into the league since Tom (and nobody coming in this year will trump him). He's a total winner and he'll be your guy for the next ten years.
In fact, I sent Mike Silver of SI -- an email buddy -- a scouting report prior to his article on Phil back in November.
I'm not going to go into why I like Rivers, suffice it to say, I could probably write a thesis on it.
BUT please don't compare his stats to Tom's in 2001. It's just silly.
You're comparing maybe the greatest array of offensive weapons in recent memory to maybe the all-time worst.
I would wish you luck next week, but we'll need all we can get...but I do have a ton of respect for Rivers.
If our gameplan is to make him beat us, he will.
