They can't believe we fall for the crap this franchise serves to us on a platter. What a bunch of lemmings we are. We can't possibly see the evil lurking behind everything the Patriots say and do and we should be thankful for these columnists' insights and healthy cynicism.
Bobby Knight put it best," we all learn to write in first grade. Most of us move on to other things."
When my time on earth is gone, and my activities here are passed, I want they bury me upside down, and my critics can kiss my ass!
Do we need to consult body language experts again?
Remember that? What the hell was that about, I forget now.
I could take the entire transcript of his press conference and completely take quotes and use them out of context - and create an article that would make anyone who is just a casual fan believe that he's angry and frustrated.
However at the same time I can take his actual quotes and use them in their correct context - which paints a different picture, but at least a little closer to reality. Some people simply choose to do the former instead of the latter.
Oddly enough I'm not even directing this at Curran. I was listening to 98.5 this afternoon w/Tony Mazz and they kept pulling different phrases that were being used to try and judge his mood. This thread just made me think of it - because I can't believe how they twisted some of the things he said.
Needless to say I was kind of hoping that Brady's meeting with the media today would have been enough to put this to bed, but clearly that's not happening. At least not yet
hilariousListening to 98.5 yesterday afternoon, Felger and Massarotti are not admitting defeat on this Brady situation, they’ve just changed their tune. Here’s how it goes now:
Felger: “Of course we knew Brady wouldn’t hold out, and we know that he’s going to get a new deal from the Patriots that will be close to Peyton Manning’s. But why did they make him BEG for it? They made this guy, who has won three Super Bowls for them, and made the Patriots the fifth most valuable franchise in professional sports, get down on his KNEES and BEG for it.”
Massarotti: “You’re absolutely right, Mike.”
And here the AP comes out with the other side of the story.

now what was so hard about that ? just reporting what brady actually said instead of some vulcan mind melding and then trying to interpret what he really meant.

Much has been made over Brady possibly being angry or upset about his status, with reports of a “disconnect” between the quarterback and the franchise over the fact that he isn’t signed past the 2010 season. But Brady, who is entering his 11th season with the Patriots, sounded an optimistic note yesterday.
“I’ve always been privileged to play for coach Belichick, who, I’ve always said, is the best coach in the history of the league. And Mr. Kraft, I have a great relationship with him,” he said.
“I’m not into playing games. I just want to come out here and be the best I can be,” Brady added. “Whether you make a dollar playing or make millions of dollars like we do make, I really enjoy playing quarterback for this team. I have since the day I stepped on the field. It’s something I relish.”
Ultimately, Brady said he wants to play “for another 10 years,” and said he “certainly” wanted to end his career with the Patriots.
I don't think its money stopping the deal negotiations atm, i think its the length of the contract. Brady isn't a selfish give me my money guy and i dont think he wants to be the highest paid QB in the league. Like before i think he will sacrifice some $$ for the benefit of the organization.
He has said more than once he wants to play 10 more years.
