you mention the third game on Sundays but forgot to list under BAD that a lot of people are unable to watch the game. the failure of the NFL network (compared to other networks like MLB of NBA which i actually get on my cable) is a huge failure that Goodell hasn't done anything to fix.
also, the NFL's crappy use of the internet should fall under the BAD category. just look at MLB for how effective the internet can be used to support a league. every Sunday on this forum the topic of myP2P or some other way to watch football online comes up and the NFL has made no effort to please (and make money off of) this audience whatsoever.
the nfl has created a situation where, living outside of NE, i cannot watch many patriots games unless i am willing/able to switch my cable provider and pay $300 (or whatever ridiculous sum it is now) for sunday ticket or find a bar willing to put the game on. and while this can be blamed on his predecessor, Goodell should get blame for doing nothing about it.
i think these negatives more than offset NY getting a superbowl and a half-assed, limited change to the overtime rules in the playoffs.
