Yea, that's riviting Football. ;)

I would suggest anyone out there that has not read "Education of a Coach", pick it up and give it a go.

You can get it on eBay for cheap as hell.

I know. I was trying to lay down some sarcasm there

As for the book, I'd recommend Chris Price's Blueprint

A good read

Good riddance. We've been quite snakebitten the last 4 years hopefully this will be the end of that. Putting a quality team out there for this long usually means eventually the ball will start rolling your way again.

Kidnap alert! Kidnap alert! This poster is an impostor. No true New Englander would anticipate the end of winter at the beginning of February ...

That's what I was thinking as I just got done paying $150 to have my roof shoveled off and the guy says, "Probably see ya in a month or so, huh?"

By the way... when does Women's Curling start in Canada? I don't wanna miss too much.

According to my wife, I think the groundhog came back with bad news today

For me, the worst part of the off-season, other than the lack of no football, is the start up of Nascar, just can't figure out why people watch it other than for the crashes.

On the plus side, my wife and I go the movies a lot on sunday afternoons in the off-season. Helps to kill some time. :)

I can't figure out why someone would go to a movie with their wife.

BB was correct (as usual).

After 6 years of intensity, I used January to chill out. I didn't watch any of the playoffs and didn't watch the Super Bowl. It is beyond fustrating to think of watching a team the Pats beat 47-7 put up 400 yards of passing against the team that TB flawlessly decimates.

Think about what we have been through as a fanbase:

Indy AFCCG
Spygate
SB XLII
TB injury
11-5 and no playoffs

Ughhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good listing. Even the 16-0 regular season had irritating overtones with the "running up the score" charges and the first installment of the video-taping BS. It's been a while since I've been able to have a good, clear feeling about everything involved with our team. It still bothers me somewhat, although less than at one time, that the Patriots are the most disliked team in the NFL by other fans. Traveling outside of NE fairly often has made me realize this is true without a doubt. I guess the position I take was best described by Prince Machiavelli, the Italian political theorist from the 1500's. In answering the question of whether it is better to be loved than feared, he wrote, "The answer is, of course, that it would be best to be both loved and feared. But since the two rarely come together, anyone compelled to choose will find greater security in being feared than in being loved." So, hopefully, shall it be with the '09 New England Patriots - we'll, once again, scare the living $%^& out of everyone.

Hey, I didn't say when it's coming. But I'm pretty sure it will arrive before training camp. :)

Godammnit. I have my tivo set for June. Thank you for correcting this mistake on my part.

Damn it Keegs, I already told you that it's Oktoberfest that takes place in June.

I wonder if the BB "film breakdown" segment is part of some "truce" the NFL has agreed to with the Pats. I didn't see it, but it sounds like the type of thing that happens when someone is being "re-introduced" to the public. Perhaps it's something designed to make the public think BB doesn't have horns and kidnaps puppies.

Naturally, the NFL needs the Krafts for the post cap era planning since we are the only franchise with the finances AND organization. However, my guess is ownership is still seething from the past two years.

Thank god this stupid season is over and done with. I am very ready to move on.

I was just going to post a thread on this, glad I saw yours.

Yeah, more than it's over, it's a new season really is about to begin, combine, draft mini camps. Last year is just that last year.

I posted a poll about TFB being ready for 2009 and there are more and more reports out there that suggest just that. I think Cassel will be franchised and traded, as much as I hate to see him go.

2008 is rear view mirror now baby.....ohh and the Steelers can send some flowers and thank you notes to KC, for letting them have this one.

So, now what do we do until free agency and the draft?

I believe pitchers and catchers report soon.
NASCAR starts in 2 weeks.
The NBA is about to have it's All Star Game, which is fun to watch if you hate seeing people play defense.
The NHL season is over the hump (my son and I are going to some Devils games).
March Madness is coming up in, well, March.

Some decent time killers until August. Any other suggestions?

I am not going to tell you what to do but the Bruins are absloutley tearing up the League right now....

I know, Brother. The Sarcasm was dully noted and well played.

The Blueprint is an excellent read, another fantastic way to bridge the time between seasons.

Chicagoland makes New England feel like the Bay Area. I swear, I don't know what I was thinking when we decided to move here!

I've lived in Boston, NYC, Pittsburgh, Albany, and Cincy....not nothing hits the bones like the miserable Chicagoland Winter.

They are exciting to watch...but I don't want to get too reattached until they get out of the 1st round of the playoffs.

:ditto:
I'm looking forward to this draft for all the usual reasons but also because it'll be our first non-Pioli; I'm dying to see how BB and Caserio work it:singing:

Same here. It will be alot of fun to see how the team comes together, including the coaches and management.

Throw in Pioli now working AGAINST us and we've got interesting times ahead:popcorn:
