Default So is this what "Quiet Strength" is?

So Tony "The Fraud" Dungy coaches his team to 13-3 with a bye and a home playoff game. But they lose their first playoff game as big favorites.

From that point forward, Tony Dungy pulls a "Lord Favre" and has the Tony Dungy retirement show before, during, and after important NFL playoff games.

He just can't get enough of the spotlight, fueling retirement stories for over a week after his choke job. Now, right before the superbowl, he announces he's coming back for another year. Right when it dies down just a little bit, with 2 weeks before the SuperBowl, this douche has to come out and grab some attention for himself.

Quiet Strength my ass. This guy is the biggest ******* Fraud in the NFL.

Someone please tell me, if this is that important of a decision, why on Earth was it made so quickly? There was plenty of time to think about this decision more, without making it a big show.

EDIT: i originally typed "14-2", but i forgot that Dungy being the scum-sucking Fraud coward p.o.s. that he is, rigged the last game of the season so that another team in his division could get in the playoffs. SCUMBAG

He waited a week after getting bounced out of the playoffs, that's no Favre show.

You complain about it being a show, dragging on. Yet you wanted him to wait longer. WTF?

A week seems reasonable for a decision of this sort. Much moreso than Favre. And the Colts (by virtue of their early exit) are starting the postseason planning.

I also think the fact the announcement being made on MLK day is no accident at all... if not for the significance of today then he'd wait another couple of days for the past-CG clutter to clear.

He didn't even have to create the impression that he was going to step away.

It's not like that was made up by the media and he said "yeah good point, maybe i will retire".

The **** was made public and he wanted some spotlight. It did not have to be this way. But since he can't get any attention by sucking as a coach, he has to do this.

He's a FRAUD.

Way to steal the attention from the King's holiday Dungy! Pulling an A-Rod on MLK.

Classless.

He's going to have a change of heart and quit on the day of the Super Bowl. Then He'll have a vision and unretire in time for the draft.

I'm sure more than a few Indy fans are ambivalent about this news.

The Colts were 13-3 this season.

Not to nitpick or anything.

I don't like Dungy and that's because he [was] the head coach of the Colts. Period. End of question. The degree to which I like a player or coach is predicated solely on the color of the laundry they wear on Sunday. When fans admit this and stop bashing players and coaches for any other reason, the world of sports will be infinitely improved.

Dungy said last week that he would make his announcement "by next Monday", which is today. He had his timeline and he stuck to it.

Maybe he meant 14-2 because the last game was rigged by the cheating Titans and Colts whose "classy" head coaches colluded to keep the Browns out of the playoffs so that they wouldn't have to play a real game. Ironically, that's why they lost in the playoffs IMO.

Yup, I watched PTI today and they covered Dungy before going into the conference championship games. I immediately thought of A-Rod's announcement coming up in the eighth inning of game 4 of the WS and cameras going away from the game. Who cares, but Dungy could have waited until Tuesday, couldn't he? He's pretty dungy, IMO.
