Too bad most of the jokes on this board are horrible and have been run into the ground.

It's the same as any fan board.

3- you are pathetic for having a pathological obsession with any smallest slights on your team (real, perceived, or contrived)... you pay attention and make threads on the most insignificant things as if you don't have enough topics to talk about...
This is definitely the case and seems to be something endemic to this region. For some reason the fact that the rest of the nation doesn't celebrate our team's success robs some of their ability to enjoy it. It's a shame too.

4- you don't take any team seriously anymore perhaps except the Colts, but may be that's what 16-0 get to you.
When another team proves they can consistently challenge the Patriots I'll take them a lot more seriously. Of course the Jags and Chargers and the NFC team can beat the Patriots but I only worry about the Colts because they've proven they can beat this team. Well, when Reche Caldwell is the best WR on the roster anyways.

5- old news but... you should be thankful to us for taking Elway and Denver out for your 2nd SB appearance. Ya wouldn't have thunk beating Denver in Denver, would ya?
Tony Boselli was a monster in that game. I won't thank the Jags because I would have rathered the Patriots go through the Broncos to get to the SB. Never beating Elway in his entire career is a tough pill to swallow.

am here curious to see why you guys think you'll blow us out. I am not offended, you are entitle to being confident in your team, but besides some who are serious and do not think an easy win, few give reasonable argument and many just give rah rah talks...
I'm expecting a solid victory not a blowout. Why?

Because our greatest threat, the passing game, is a much tougher hurdle for your defense than your rushing game is for our defense.

Having lived in Boston most of my life and Tampa the past 4 years let me say this. New England has some of the most negative fans on the planet. In Boston misery is a way of life, we ain't happy unless we have something to complain about. 86 years of torture with the Red Sox and 42 years with the Pats will do that to you.

Having said that there is not a group of more intense or more knowledgeable fans in the country whether it is baseball or football. Boston IS the best sports town in America. These shyt kickers down in FL are johnny come latelys who think 10 years of losing means they have paid their dues.

Yeah thanks for 1996, we appreciated it. Too bad we are not Denver.

Post Re: My observation of this board...

I always worry no matter who we play - - - "any given Sunday", etc etc. I enjoy blowouts but never expect them - - - more used to the nailbiting seal the deal with a minute to go sort of scenario. Much more used to it.

I expect a tough game with Jax and feel the halftime adjustments will be critical to a win. All I hope is that no one gets hurt on either team. Do feel that playoff experience and coaching will be the difference and that edge I definitely have give to New England. (Been there done that before mentality.) They absolutely expect to win if they all do their job.

If they do get beat I expect the opposing team to have to fully earn it - - - not get it handed to them by a bevy of stupid mistakes. May the best team win (though I do admit I'm totally biased - - - fully expect the Pats to continue their run). Enjoy the competition, the playoffs are fun to watch!
One game at a time of course.

1- There isn't any football to talk, atm. The Pats haven't played in almost 2 weeks.

2- There are homers everywhere.

3- After the Spygate fallout, we're still a little touchy about the media witch hunt. Call it pathetic if you want, but you'd be doing the same if it happened to your team, and nobody really cares if you don't like it anyways.

4- We expect that the Pats will win, sure. Doesn't mean that we don't take anyone seriously. Every week we get fans like you coming in and describing some scenario where their team will win, and every week it just doesn't happen. So yeah, we're a little dismissive of that, at this point, but that doesn't mean that we don't take the teams seriously.

5- Sure, the Pats could have beaten Denver. That said, BB's record against Shanahan in recent years isn't exactly stellar, so thanks, I guess. Not sure what you were going for there. Every team has bad matchups.

I don't think the game will be a blowout. I think that your secondary is hopelessly overmatched and that, while your running game will get its yards, and probably a couple of scores, it won't be able to keep up with the Pats' offense. I'm thinking 34-24 would be a pretty reasonable final score, and that's not a blowout by any measure.

If you want your Denver team to play against Pats, your team needs to get a ticket number because every team in NFL wants to have a piece of 16/19-0 team.

Hopefully, we will compete during 08 regular season. If yours wants to compete with pats during play off, yours needs to be on the list of top 5 NFL teams.

When pats wins, i'm happy and if pats doesn't play well, i criticize.

Being a pats fan, i seriously have some health issue because i scream a lot during the game and my blood pressure was so high that my friend told me to calm down when pats made a bad play.

Other than that, i love trash-talking. Having fun is the reason i'm here .

Goash, yeah, thanks. No one but you could have won that game. We should give you the Lombardi. The least we can do is let you win Saturday night. Fair's fair.

Surprising as this may be to you, those who think it will be an easy win are being serious, and just because some of us think it will be easy does not mean we are being unreasonable. A rah rah talk is when you are only two-three games over .500 and brag about how you will do. It isn't rah rah when you merely note that no one, not no one not no how, has yet to beat you.

I think the game will be a blowout because Jax is not designed to score with us. People often overlook just how good against the run the Pats are. I have a lot of respect for the Jacksonville run game but the offense is one-dimensional. Everything is predicated upon establishing the run early. If Jacksonville doesn't win on first and second down, they are in a lot of trouble. New England plays the run as well as anyone, and I don't think Jacksonville will be able to dominate the LOS like they can other teams. Furthermore, New England defends the play action and deep balls as well as anyone. They rarely bite on play fakes.

Jacksonville will be forced into 3rd and 5, 3rd and 7 situations and forced to punt frequently. They lack the slot threat to convert over our linebackers in those situations.

Because of this, New England will have the ball more freqently than many think. We matchup extremely well against the Jacksonville secondary, especially when we force them into dime packages against 5-wide and 4-wide sets. The under routes will be carved up by the likes of Welker and Gaffney, setting up the Moss Balls. In addition, JAX is not overly active in persuit and I think there is a real opportinity for YAC stuff from Stallworth who is in my opinion the best after the catch guy I have ever seen.

I respect the Jags, but I just think that they do not matchup well against what we do. Indy, on the other hand is a totally different story...

Oops, hit reply too soon.

Why do we think we will blow you out this year?

Here's a reasoned response:

Last time we met in the playoffs, you were 12-4 and we were 10-6, and we manhandled you and you lost 28-3.

Now you are only 11-5 and we are 16-0.

Look at the numbers. Really look at them. See that we have gotten so much better and you have not even held you own over the last two years.

It is unreasonable to think that the game will not be a blowout.

Now go away.

With all due respect to Jax....they do not have what it takes to compete with us. Their passing game is fair and ours is excellent. Jax will have huge problems defending our passing game and they better hope they can succeed on the ground and control the clock to some extent or their worst nightmare comes true - being blown out.

Honestly - I see NE winning this thing about 38-10.

Your board is full of the DUMBEST football fans I've ever seen. Truly, the dumbest. I thought Colts fans were kidding, they weren't. You have had long threads fighting over what color shirt you are supposed to wear to the game!
If I'm ever in a fight, I want Tommysgirl on my side.
