Yahoo via WBZ: RCA Dome Security Guard admits sound enhanced

I personally don't think anything will come of it as it gets swept away.

I just came across this little tibit

In a stunning admission that could make it even harder for former Vikings and Cardinals head coach Dennis Green to ever return to the NFL, Green's son said during an ESPN.com chat on Monday that the Vikings used to pump in crowd noise in the 1990s.

Jeremy Green, a former scout who has been with ESPN.com for several years, was asked, "[D]o you believe the allegations about pumping in crowd noise? Have you heard the "skip"?

Green's answer? "I don't doubt it. The Vikings used to do it in the 90's when they had very good foootball [sic] teams."

It is, without question, cheating. It impairs the opposing offense on every play -- and makes key plays with plenty of genuine crowd noise even more challenging.

Nearly two years ago, Commissioner Paul Tagliabue issued a warning that any such shenanigans could result in the forfeiture of draft picks.

Hopefully for the Vikings, the statute of limitations is less than 10 years.

As to the Colts, three members of the current coaching staff worked for Green in Minnesota, including head coach Tony Dungy, offensive coordinator Tom Moore, and defensive line coach John Teerlinck.

As the league source who pointed out Green's comments to us said, "The Commish ain't gonna like this."

"I am the eyes and ears of this institution, my friend."

Well F-ing PLAYED.

But amplifying the crowd noise would be so un-Christian Dungy's application for Sainthood is in trouble.

One thing that was brought up by some of the enemy media was that "there must be some disgruntled former Pats who will come out and tell the truth about this camera cheating stuff!"

And all of us just shook our heads because it was soooo stupid.

But, I have worked security. Security guards are not the most intelligent folks on the planet sometimes . But, there are some who would know about this issue. The security team at the dome would be very large by the way. There would be teams probably. There would be different types of security. Some folks would be just underlings of course. If the person that came forward was just an underling - low level employee - then it might be tough to get the whole thing started in motion. (remember - the security firm will want to put a muzzle on this too! And they will be able to if it is just some dude talking out his azz.) However, if it is a low level or high level manager. Or if it can be coraborated with SEVERAL other (of the numorous) guards, well.. then there could be a problem for the colts.

Judging from what we all know about the indy fans, we imagine that the guards will be just like the Brown Shirts in days of yore (young nazis). The real truth probably is that there are some people who would come forward and speak up if it is truly happening.

Security guards are kinda like cops guys. There are even some who put on the uniform, get in front of the mirror and do the cops monologue "Well, I became a police officer to do my part to help America, clean the streets, save the women, help the children, yada yada yada" and it may be these Ned Flander types who could be compelled to come forward and stand for justice.

You never know.

The bottom line. Did it happen? And if it did, (as the son of green said it did in Minny) then this could actually be something.

Remember how slow the cameragate crap started?

Of course, what we all know is, and it has been mentioned here, this thing does not fit the agenda of the media, and that is a very important part of the equation.

But amplifying the crowd noise would be so un-Christian Dungy's application for Sainthood is in trouble.

If you admit it after the fact, you can get back into the club. Its a funny rule, but it works for them.

All I know is that if the Colts DO get busted, I'm gonna laugh my ass off at that ass-hat Polian's press release - all snarky and obnoxious about those kinds of charges being "ridiculous." That would be CLASSIC.

Hell, they'll worship him more for it [if he apologizes]!

Yeah, I could care less about piping in crowd noise, but I would just love to see Polian melt with rage if the Colts ever did get caught at it.

It is cheating. I mean, this is really cheating. Teams are not issued league approved noise every week.

But, teams are issued the video shots and what not (not sure of everything they get).

If this comes out, it is going to take a long time. I mean, this is not a quick thing. But, there could be something that happens.

Well if there were mikes and other sound equipment, I'd bet that it has got to be gone now. Polian probably had his crew take down all incriminating evidence. this sucks....i for one think that there is more to this than the CBS admission. my 2 cents...please don't flame me for this opinion.

as we chat here on the forums , the RCA dome is being wiped out of any mics setup.

It would be the total "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!" kinda thing! :rocker:

They oughta have Jack Bauer interrogate all the security guards and find the mole.

TELL ME WHERE THE MIC IS!

What this means is a) if the Colts continue to do this, they will get caught or b) they will have to stop this now for fear of being caught.

That's the key to me. IF it's true (and I'm far from convinced) it has to stop immediately. So let's see whether the the next game at the dome has the announcers marveling over how deafening it is when the Colts are on defense, and how silent on offense!

But there are many people who would know, if it were true. Many.

And they are not rich folks. They are more akin to say, "heck yea I'll testify for ten large."

Classic.

I am telling you, these guys would open like a can a soup!

Your just being reasonable. You are not jumping in and drinking the cool aid. And I just don't understand why??

You are probably right.

But, can't we just have our little CSI thing here for a little bit?
