We are talking about WRs not gadget players. Patterson has no value except in KR and there are more options for that. He is not even a real football player.

Special teams is an important part of the game and no one appreciates that more than Belichick.

Belichick sees football players and he will keep the guys he thinks gives them the best chance to succeed, special teams considerations included.

Watch the .gifs you posted by Lazar of Brady missing open players. Patterson was in those plays on at least two occasions.

You don't need to teach me of ST value for BB. I am aware. The reality is that CP is not even playing 50% of the ST snaps. His value there is limited. We are not talking core ST like Bolden used to be or Ebner now.

It doesnt matter how open he gets if Brady doesn't trust him. And since he keeps running wrong routes I doubt it will ever get to the point where Brady actually trusts him outside designed plays.

This is less about CP and more about Brady. I would rather bank on the player that Brady keeps targeting than the one who gets ignored even when wide open.

But that's just me.

Last year he could. I haven't really watched him this year post injury and recovery to his knee, since there hasn't been much to watch (hence him asking for and being granted his release). So there's definitely some uncertainty there, he wouldn't be available if there wasn't. I gotta figure he's worth bringing in and seeing how he looks at least.

@Miguel - With Rishard being a vested Veteran, I know that his salary is guaranteed. That means that Tennessee will be paying him the $5M. If the Pats were to sign him for the Vet Minimum, he would still get the remaining $5M from Tenn, correct?
