Lots of trade talk in this thread but they are kind of rare in the NFL. How about drafting a replacement? Maroney at best gets you the Ellis Hobbs trade value and we have lots of 2nd round picks.
Cousin, Understand that this year unlike any other year in the immediate past will have to include trades to better any team because of the end of the CBA and limited FA availability.
I agree that Maroney has a limited value in a trade for pick market, but if we can get the right deal for a player trade like Cromartie (ugly end to a fabulous beginning in SD), Chris Gocong (always cast incorrectly as a 4-3 guy), How about a Ray Edwards from the Vikings (he is a RFA and Chester Taylor is leaving for FA. LoMo was a U. of Minn. guy and the Vikes need a number two guy behind Peterson) He'll cost more than just LoMo but here is that passing rushing DE we need (need a CB? Wilhite? plus a mid round pick?). BB loved this guy in the Draft.
Even Crazy Al has been said to want to dump the talented CB Asomugha because of his insane contract (would have to be re-structured or no-way!).
I hear he might let Michael Bush go. Crazy Al wants a CB as well. How about LoMo, Wilhite and our #22 pick for Asomugha and the talented 245lb Bush? Throw in our 4th rounder?...all you Cousins laughing, wouldn't you do this trade in a minute (remember contract re-do is the key wording and his agent will oblige to get him out of that "Black Hole")? This is Crazy Al and we are taking turns getting screwed so it is his turn after Burgess.
LoMo could back up McFadden and is better than RFA Vargas.
AL-BB Screw Card (recent edition):
AL-Doug Gabriel
BB-Randy Moss
BB/AL -Seymour (may be a tie if we do our typical trade downs for JAG fourth rounders and Richard makes a Pro-Bowl or two yet)
AL-Derrick Burgess
BB-Asomugha
We could throw games in this column as well but BB was not there for the terrible Hamilton RTP on Stabler call versus the Tuck game (Karma?).
Asomugha and Bodden sound great to me!
My point is trades will be made more than ever in 2010.
