I wasn't that high on Allen coming out. In fact I didn't like him that much but my scale have him a 2nd round pick. I remember being impressed last year and saying he wasn't nearly as bad as the media was making him out to be. He showed a lot of heart and displayed a ton of potential. Had the feeling they would be talking about Daboll and Allen like Jackson and Roman. Just had that feeling things would come together. I wonder what Buffalo will do to keep Daboll, you know offers will come in.

These look like great games on paper imo. Cleveland has the pieces but do they have what it takes to shock KC? if everything goes right. I suppose but again that might be a little closer than expected?
Baltimore/Buffalo is the game I'm most looking forward to after Tampa Tom. Who would of thought Jackson & Allen would be fighting for QB1 out of that class? I still have a lot of hope for Baker too. Balty vs Buffalo though, I wouldn't be surprised to see one of them stay hot. I'm really looking forward to seeing this play out with what little time I have (94 hours including tonight, Monday, 6pm-6am)

dont know what happened to curran but this is his weekly thing trying to morph into shaugnessy . I dont disgree with the opinions about bad drafts etc but come on. Curran has taken the brady leaving personally than most it seems.

I quit reading him. Little Dan.

Chancellor, Sherm, Earl and Browner are getting coaches paid. It's tough to get kicked out the NFL. Once you're in and do one good thing, it's really tough not to find work. Even if it is painfully clear the scheme needs real tweaking.

Also how crazy is it that Seattle had that much talent on one team. Unbelievable. Easily one of the best defenses ever. Sure that scheme was great but we're talking about multiple HOF players and a lot of great other ones. It's nice to have that one mounted on the wall.

Quinn isn't HC material (neither is Shanny but that's a subject for another time), so maybe DC is his level...wasn't Mike Nolan's obviously; his next NFL job if he gets another will be only a LB coach...

Dunno...Those #s for Uche aren't passing my eyeball test with flying colors, to put it mildly...

Dude's too small to earn his keep at the LOS; he needs to prove that he's also capable of earning it in space, if he's ever to become a productive 3-down player here.

(Wino is a different matter; he's better-built to stay on the LOS in most situations, except maybe vs jumbo packages...)

Take off your “Denegrate every Belichick draft pick like it’s a bodily function” glasses and perhaps you’d see him more clearly.

This is purely a pass rushing stat. He may never set the edge well enough to be a three down player (and BB clearly doesn’t trust him yet as a run stopper) but the dude has natural, and rare, talent when it comes to quarterback search and destroy.

If you had actually watched the games, you'd know that UCHE was not lining up in the traditional OLB spot. So he wasn't asked to set the edge or "earn his keep at the LOS". He was lining up more in the ILB role where he'd be asked to read and react to the play, hitting the proper hole to stop the run or pass rushing through a particular gap as was called for or dropping back into coverage on a TE or RB.

Uche played really well this year despite the fact that he missed so much time to injury.

Idk I think he's played pretty well all things considering. I'm not crowning him, Dugger or Onwenu yet but I thought each proved their worth right away. Walsh used to want guys to show their worth by year two or it was make or break after that. I'm happy with them so far.

I think Hightower coming back, in shape, ready to rock is the best thing for this group. Gives everyone else a little breathing room and really allows them to play their role.

If he does come back in that fashion I think we're a few pieces away up front from a good defense. Wino, HT, Uche, Jennings, Simon, Wise, Butler and a few big boys up front have the makings of a decent looking 3-4 / 2-5. Esp if we ever let Hightower rush the passer full-time (Please Bill just one year. I've only seen good things happen when 54 rushes the QB) Wino, Hightower, Uche & Simon isn't bad at all with Butler, Guy and additional help on the line.

Walsh was assuming a full training camp, preseason and on-field practices (not Zoom practices) when he said that which makes Onwenu and Duggar's output even more impressive.

Are you sure about Simon? I am not sure he is a keeper.

Need a stud DE, and a DT. Would like a good to great LB too. Plus a great LB if Hightower retires. 3 or 4 guys. One to replace Simon. DE and LB(s) from FA IMO, and the DT in the draft. DT is easier to learn and a young man's position.

I wouldn't be sad to see Simon go at lol but think he'd be a serviceable backup.
