Words on things I watched, read & heard

Old friend Trent Brown might be available. Raiders can save 14m by releasing him. Missed 15 games the last 2 years for them.
Brown, Owenu, C, Shaq and Wynn would be a great run-blocking OL

Definitely even though i am not quit sure i get 100% what you mean
So basically it's like a fantasy football draft but using anyone who's played. Got the idea from the top 100 players last year. Just thought it would be fun to see the teams, depth chart, how posters drafted-who they go for first, who they wait on.

It would take a minute bc of all the players and teams. I'm thinking 15 teams so it's not completely watered down.

Just something for the off-season while we watch other teams in the playoffs, FA & the Draft to come.

Sounds fun

Probably should get a look next level. (Matt Campbell no idea why it's not showing)

I immediately miss the playoffs. Ugh this sucks. We all knew it was coming but my goodness it's real. Playing for it all is everything. The best of the best going at it. The matchups. Drama. I miss it this moment.

I love draft picks and everything draft but never want to team to lose. Except today lol. Players and coaches would never though. It's night and day between fan and player/coach. And that's a good thing. They're working, building something. Day in, day out. You have to believe doing that. Doesn't matter if you're a dummy like me or a rich athlete. You want to do a good job. You want to make it happen no matter what the circumstances.
As a fan you can play this game where you connect all these dots and things make sense. That's just not reality with 32 teams, 1500+ players, 100's of coaches ... Plus Bill is absolutely going for the fish's record. He's too close, it's in front of him and I can't see him giving up one or that thought even entering into his mind. He wants to beat the coach in front of him just like the players he coaches.

Fact is we're a bad team with no QB. That said we have a ton of $ while a # of good teams are in extreme dept. Lots of good players will be available one way or the other. A ton bc of teams that have sold out. Seriously it's amazing how bad some teams F'd up the cap lol. Falcons -25+ , Eagles like 60+ and the Saints almost 100!

We also have 11 draft picks I believe. Two top 40-45 picks. A 3rd from Tom and three 4ths. We have plenty of ammo of move around. It's always tough to project before FA but we have a few issues that must be sort out.

The QB's - We shouldn't of had three of the roster this year and damm sure shouldn't next year. Hoyer should be on the sidelines as a coach if we like him that much. If we can't teach the offense without him taking up a roster spot we ought to pack it in. If Stid can't help us this year I have serious doubts about his future. Best case let him compete for backup or practice spot. Again we don't need another roster spot take up from someone who can't contribute during a season like this. I'll take Cam on a cheap, cheap deal if we don't like any of the draft prospects and can't get a Stafford, Ryan, Wentz on a decent deal. I'd take Jimmy on a cheap deal as well. Personally I'm moving forward and either drafting a prospect or finding the cheapest QB possible. I'd suffer through another few bad years while building up the roster until the QB of the future arrives. Most likely this or the next draft. Both are nice.

Speaking of nice classes there's no excuse not to have a new & improved WR corp by next year. None. Enough is enough and I'm literally out of excuses. We just had an incredible WR class come in.

We have 60+ million in cap space and probably more once we start hacking up the roster. Plenty of money to spend. And we're about to have another great WR class this draft. There's no excuse not to have a new look WR corp by the end of next year. It's not easy but it's not so hard we need to be banging our head against wall like this. We might have to pour resources in it but who cares, sometimes that's what it takes.
Serious question: Justin Jefferson & Claypool were high on my PTP board. If we had traded a 3rd to get JJ and taken Claypool or Shenault in the second would we be worrying about overspending? JJ in the slot/Z, Claypool as the X/hybrid. Idk sounds alright to me. Anyway we have tons of money, picks and a big need. Make it happen and send it!

I wouldn't mind seeing a Tony and Junior Soprano situation occur between Jonathan and Bob. If Bob doesn't want to give it up which I doubt he does. Let Jonathan be the boss without the title if that's the case. I love RKK and everything he's done for the team and area. He's an easy target by his own doing but still one of the best owners ever. Certainly within the region. With that said I think the time has come. Again idc if it's a behind the scenes thing. This team is heading into an important rebuild and need a steady hand steering the ship. Kraft is a legend but a target. We still need his connects and contacts and he'll never just walk away but give Jonathan the reigns. Even if it's a situation like the Sopranos. Where Tony is the underboss but really running the show while Junior drools on himself. Re-watching the show now and it's so good. Unbelievable premise. Outstanding acting, writing and production. The kids were absolutely terrible (AJ, Meadow, Jackie Jr) but besides that the show is top 5 in my book.

Joe Thuney should be a Pat. We're searching for a QB and don't need uncertainty with the OL. He's been durable, professional and improved to the point where he's a top 15 offensive lineman including tackles and centers. Hes the guy you pay and reward. And point to when talking to or yelling at the young guys. So consistent and smart. I really do not want to see him go.

The secondary was a big strength not too long ago but defense is funny in today's game. It doesn't translate from year to year today. Just a different game. So I'm not too worried about regaining form, if we keep the back end. Yes I'm keeping Gilmore unless the relationship is broken. Tender JC, try to work something out but keep this group together. You need three corners in today's game. And even then they can be beat. The best defenses can look silly in 2021.

I expect Bill to be aggressive in both FA and the draft. He doesn't have a lot of time and has chest of resources. He's chasing Shula's record and has to be burning inside after the year. Covid. Tom. I don't think he's feeling sorry for himself rn but rather waiting, planning his next move.

This has been the case for quite some time. Bob is the figurehead and Jonthan runs the day-to-day ops stuff.

Agreed and you're right to an extent but Bob is more than a figurehead and still making decisions. He's still very much involved in most things. I'd like to see him kicking back on a beach full-time and really hand the reigns over for real.

You forget that Bob Kraft is a hard core Pats fan. So much so that he bought the team. He's not going to sit on a beach somewhere and have nothing to do with the team.

Agreed but hopefully he can really be a fan. He's still pretty heavily involved by all accounts. Id love for him to run the team on vacation, from afar. Again really hand over the keys to JK.

dont know what happened to curran but this is his weekly thing trying to morph into shaugnessy . I dont disgree with the opinions about bad drafts etc but come on. Curran has taken the brady leaving personally than most it seems.

That ship has sailed and is sinking.

I quit reading him. Little Dan.

how much can he have to do with the team from the orchid?

Belichick is now 36 wins away from tying Shula...at this rate...it would take 5 more seasons of mediocre play...(7-8 wins per)...if we are a playoff team...3 seasons....(assume 10-11 wins per with a few playoff wins).

And I am not sold on keeping Gilmore or Thuney....yeah they are probably our two best players, but we have options...like Patrick Surtain II in the draft and sliding Onwenu inside....

Good stuff
