That's a nice pic... Glad to see Brady hanging-out with them; he might have a financial stake in another team, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be a stranger in Foxborough either.

He might've noticed last year (& maybe even the year before) that, despite his best efforts, he wasn't reaching the catch point &/or the runner as quickly as he used to do... And his edge might've been lost for good sometime between Thanksgiving night and Las Vegas.

Jackson State wide receiver Malachi Wideman and Purdue wide receiver Milton Wright have officially been granted eligibility and will be the only two players that teams can consider, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Wideman is 6-foot-5, 190 pounds was a two-sport star in football and basketball in high school and chose to pursue football, picking Tennessee among the many schools offering him scholarships. But after a disappointing career at Tennessee, he transferred to Jackson State. Wideman played very well in his first season at Jackson State, tying for the SWAC lead in touchdown catches with 12 in 2021, but he played only sparingly in 2022, catching just three passes.

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Wright caught 57 passes for 732 yards and seven touchdowns in 2021 but missed the entire 2022 season after he was ruled academically ineligible.

It's not a bold prediction to think that the Patriots aren't likely to win an SB this year. Too many "ifs," too few breakouts stars. Doesn't mean they won't win, but the odds are long for a justifiable reason. McCourty, at least, thinnks they're going in the right direction, as he also said this:

“I think this team is going to be better than people think,” McCourty said, via MassLive.com. “Bill is focused this year. He’s locked in. We’re talking about legacy now. He’s second all-time in wins. He’s not going to talk about it, but why would you not want to be first? You’re right there. I think he wants to continue to prove to people, ‘I am Coach Belichick. I am the Bill Belichick. We will show what we’re made of.’

“They’re out there practicing hard at OTAs. They had a down day the other day at OTAs because the other day was so hard. It’s not training camp, we’re talking about OTAs, but a down day? That’s how hard they’re working because they want to prove to everybody that ‘we’re not fourth in this division.’ “

Wright's intriguing, but with BoneyT, Booty & Double-D all looking for valuable TC/pre-season snaps, I don't see how he can make the 53 without having to clear waivers and spend time on the PS first; so using a draft pick on him (or Wideman) seems like a waste.
