Content Post Words on things I watched, read & heard II

This has an opening post with good commentary and information, which we definitely recommend reading.
Yea basically not all sacks are equal. You'll have players unblocked, coverage sacks, clean up sacks where a QB might be funneled into a opportunity for another player.

Few things sticking out.
NFL knows how to draft pass rushers. Perhaps more than any other position.

Sacks kill drives. Pressure is great but no substitute for finish.
two things that popped up i think are:
- the highest sack score came mostly from DE/Edge rushers than DT
Could this give some indication about the position value gap between a top DT or DE?

A few names i thought were higher are Chris Jones, Donald, J. Allen and Mack. I know Jones plays a lot at DE this season. Washington's defense is underperforming.

They've also learned that edge rushers can greatly increase their production against interior OL. In turn, IOL have become more valuable in relation to tackles. It's to the point where an All Pro guard is almost equally as valuable as an All Pro tackle, considering the value they have in the running game as compared to tackles. Now they have to take on edge rushers routinely. Pressure up the middle is much more disruptive than pressure on the edge with the shift to athletes at the QB position.

I think it compares the sack number for the linemen to the "what actually sack number accounts due to the play by the linemen" so you can see if you actually have a productive pass rusher or if those sacks were based on other reasons
For example it looks like Judon's sack number was not based only due his pass rush wins, there were other factors...so if the sack number only consists those sacks caused by the individual pass rush win he would have 3

This is only guessing i admit
Okay, I'll wait to see what BGC says but unless your one on one it seems there would always be other factors. Even there, they might only be one on one because someone else deserves to be doubled. Statistics are too obtuse for me.

Okay, I read what everyone said, went back and looked at the stats and have decided this one is meaningless. However, the EPA chart makes sense, but like many of these charts they just seem to be intuitive.

I would think that a shaky, injury-riddled offensive line and one dimensional running backs who aren't good in pass pro would mean more tight end usage, but here we are.

Hard to run 13 Personnel when you have only 2 TEs active on game day... The complete non-use of Devin Assiassi so far has been one of this season's biggest Unsolved Mysteries...
McDaniels can baerly use the 2 TE they have on game day roster, the one is missused as FB and the other is supposed to be a pure blocking TE so that McShitty can run his stupid run-plays with no gains and end up everything with a nice screen for 0 yards to Bolden

people are debatting about how Brady carried BB but actually Brady carried McShitty all the years, he has had worst O numbers with Rams and Broncos and now with the Patriots without Brady its not really different, I am pretty sure any other modern OC with some guts would make a better job with what the Patriots team has right now than what the annoying conservative playcalling from McDaniels will ever do

RZ problems are pure coaching issue, you have 2-3 TEs, you have jump-ball Harry, you have shiffty WR with Meyers and Bourne who can get open, they show it every game and you throw like 1 out of 10 times into the EZ? what the hell

Is this NEM's ghost?

At some point throughout the season almost everyone eats in Kyle's system. There really isn't a true #1. SF is putting him out there so I have to wonder what's going on? Especially considering Kyle's ability to manufacture touches for players. Just give the guy more touches and see what's up? Extremely concerning. Dude was good enough to pick top 25 I think? Had a nice rookie year. Flashed a lot and now it's all on him? I've been saying even before he came out that he needed to learn the position but enough of this tough love bs. I know we'll take him lol

Kneal Harry's college teammate.

The QB efficiency is last years? D Brees included? No M Jones?
It was actually a tweet about Baker and his extension and forgot to add everything lol.

Browns went all in or close to it before his extension. Them and a few other teams (Ravens) have some interesting decisions coming up.

I noticed this piece about Cordarelle Patterson and what he had learned about being a professional in New England: 'Now a member of the Atlanta Falcons, Patterson recently was asked about his thoughts on playing in New England. “That really taught me the way to practice and compete and all that stuff.'

But what struck me was the bit at the end:

"Patterson, 30, currently is on pace for his best season as a pro. The receiver-running back hybrid has 295 receiving hards [I'm going to hope that is a typo!] 173 rushing yards and five all-purpose touchdowns in five games with the Falcons."
When CP was in New England in 2018, I thought his contribution was underrated. Even though he dropped pretty much every serious catch thrown at him, he was a holy terror out of the backfield on sweeps and reverses. And he even lined up at running back for the first time (volunteered for the role when the injuries had devastated the specialist running backs) although he wasn't great at it. It seems that he's improved there AND he caught everything thrown his way when I watched him on Sunday. How I wish he were with the Pats!

I've always loved him. If he was entering the league now he'd be a bigger problem. Ahead of his time, most coaches at this level are afraid to make big changes.

Best return man ever. Tough tough player. If hands weren't such an issue I wonder how he would have done running more TE routes than WR. He's also been a big boy. Great blocker. Loved to mix it up.

So fun to watch.

Are you ready for a team over there? The London Lot sound good?
