Brady has been the best QB in the league since last year in like every regard. Quick passing < 2.5 seconds, no one has been better and we've been given up about 9 per clip there. Brady is completing like 80% of those quick hitters.
One of those recipients on those quick passes is Godwin who plays a good amount of slot. We've covered that position as well as anyone or close to it this year so impeding Godwin off the line and playing him tough throughout the snap is key here. We have to win that matchup more often than not 1 on 1.

I bet Brady loves playing with Godwin as much as anyone on that team. There just aren't a lot of WR's in the league like him. Physical bully that can box you out but has great concentration and hands at the catch point. He has to be top 5 in that regard. He also has the athleticism to do work after the catch. Can line up inside(112) /outside (70). I bet Brady likes him as much an anyone on that team. Really liked Godwin coming out, WR4 for me I believe coming out.

The other matchup that should have all eyes on them is Vea vs Onwenu. Vea lines up across from the LG a lot so we could see two 325 + big boys crashing into each other all night. Vea's hands and motor are relentless. This should be so fun bc Onwenu is a beast when rushers at coming down the middle towards him. Love this matchup. I focus on OL/DL/QB mostly and this game will be no different. Our whole OL should see this as a challenge and a good way to get back on track. We need everyone to play their best game of the season but really need Andrews and Onwenu to step up.

I think the Vea vs. Onwenu match-up will decide the offenses success and, ultimately, the game. I do also agree that Andrews needs to step up. If Onwenu can't control Vea and allow Andrews to focus on the late rusher/someone doing a stunt or twist, then the offense won't be able to do squat.

It will be interesting to see if it's Jon Jones or JC Jackson lined up opposite Godwin.

I would think JJ on Godwin. JC on Evans and double Brown but we'll see.

Huge game for our OL. This is a "look in the mirror" type game.

What a game. Not often a game like this lives up to the hype but it was a great game all-around. Really picked up after the first quarter, we came within a foot of winning. Have to be proud of the team. TB is a consensus top 3-5 team, defending SB champ. We went toe to toe with the best for a full game. Again a lot to be proud of.

Mac made a few mistakes tonight but continued to show that he's legit. Still needs to get more command of the offense in between plays. Pocket awareness is good but could be a little better, a little more consistent but there's almost no working with this OL right now. They're a tough group to work with.
His footwork and movements were really good at times. His base was balanced and sturdy, quick feet, tight up top in his shoulders. That one drive towards the end was really sweet and looked like visualization straight out of our playbooks. Him and offense were tight, clean and crisp. Everything was on point, no sloppy, slow play besides a few running plays. Again Mac needs to speed things up at times but he's getting better there as well.
Mac essentially went toe to toe with Brady and came out looking very good against a very talented defense! Even though they were banged up that's still a feat at this stage in his career. Again we'll see the stats and metrics come out but Mac was right there all night with Tom. Our third best player in the field imo behind Judon and JC.

Really impressed with his mechanics. Feet, hips, shoulders - everything was efficient and clicking.

We have to find a way to get chunk / explosive plays. I know the OL is a mess but we have to manufacture stuff if need be.

OL continued to struggle. Let up two big delayed blitzes from the second level again but TB didn't really throw too much stuff at us . A few strong moments, there were times when they were good enough but obviously we have higher hopes. Both tackles had issues. Wynn almost got caught late for a false start. One of my fav players but he's been trash all year. I'm keeping him at tackle but definitely concerned and thinking about what's next for sure. Communication was better throughout the OL but we continued to see some of the same issues just at a smaller rate. There is so much room for improvement here. Again I saw both Onwenu and Wynn communicating not just when packages were coming but we still need better.

Excellent execution from the defense. We might need to overhaul the LB position in terms of personnel and how what we look for in the off-season but the defense balled out. JC was great. Very physical anytime a WR would come out of his breaks or at the catch point. He was a grown man out there tonight. Again especially in the MOF when his man would try get out from his route or stop, JC was all over him. JC used have issues with double moves and comebacks but has improved so much.

I'll have to watch again I thought we played some man match but man was prevalent and we clogged the hell out of the MOF / Flat area. People dropping off the line after teasing.

Barmore played like a man that knew why he's here. Not a lot of finish but tons of flashes both in the run and vs the pass. I said when he came out even though he was taken out vs the run at Bama that it's a clean slate with him. I didn't necessarily think he goof or bad doing anything bc of his small sample size even though he clearly had his strengths and weakness. With his size and physique there's no reason he couldn't be a beast in every phase of the game. We saw him use his length, 2 gap / show eyes / colors in one gap before switching over and making a play. I always watch DL'm feet and legs. Do they stop moving - most do. I saw a little of both from CB last night but was encouraged with his legs and motor. He's still so raw but so natural. Get that man a running mate on the line.

I've been raving about Judon's instincts for months but has such a monster against screens, misdirection / bootlegs. Just sees it before it happens. Registers quick, plays quick. He's been the best player on the team so far and looks like a legit piece over the next 3-4 years.

I've said this a few times now but Rham needs to play. I had no problem parting with Sony but one would think Rham would be ready or you wouldn't make that move. This is slightly embarrassing. How can you have essentially one horse in the stable behind Harris? Again I'm fine with parting with Sony but you can't leave yourself short like this. I mean I love Bolden but wtf man. We have to do better than this.

Right before the game I wrote about Godwin and how important he is to that team and Brady. The guy can do so much and is so tough to cover. We essentially rerouted him off the line between leverage and guys dropping off the line. Basically taking away the flat/ sidelines with coverage/leverage and clogging the MOF with defenders. Bill obviously thought pretty highly of him and it showed.

I get kicking the FG but you have to go for it imo. Mac was dealing, comfortable and is the guy going forward. From now on I hope Mac speaks up a little more and really takes control of that offense. Obviously not on him. I'm just waiting for him to wave off the old man. It's not 1990 any more Bill, go for it.

So despite staying in the fight - almost winning the damm thing we're 1-3. Yes it's not a death sentence (kind of is - we're going to have to rattle off 6-7 in a row at some point soon) but there's little room for error from here on out. And we're a team that has shown we're very much a work in progress on both sides - obviously more on the offensive side but it's an uphill climb at this point.

At this point - Tackle, DL, CB, LB are the big ones.

The tryon sack footage shows everything i think.. It was a Tex Stunt i believe where Vea pushed Wynn on his ass and Karras did follow Vea instead of Tryon who went inside for the sack. This is a major issue for our line so far.

Barmore already facing double teams on passing downs seems rare. I don't think Kinlaw or Brown were much better than Barmore so far in their rookie year. This pick was a great one with value and need. We still could use another DT next to him who offers some pass rush that Barmore gets some 1 vs 1.

I agree Judon was by far the best FA signing. Dude is a beast and our best front 6 player.

Agree we need this power back with so little push at the LOS. Just truck a defender and get some physicality from our back.

Pick 7 would be an insane opportunity but i guess we will not pick top 10. Imagine a Green or Neal for our O-Line.

Top 5 D / Bottom 5 O

Go get him Bill ... Textbook playing with his eye on the 2nd play

A lot of teams passed on Renfrow, probably because he looks more like a Cornhole world champion than an NFL receiver. There hasn't been a less physically impressive player drafted in a long time. I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying that's why he was overlooked.
