I can't get it through my head why a supposed fan of the Patriots would prefer the defense was a statistically worse unit than they currently are so his idiotic opinion can be proven correct.

First day posting on the internet, eh?

Granted this applies more to social media, but still...

Dude... Can you not read? Tell me which part of "glad to be proven wrong" means "I'd rather be right than see them win."

Continued comments that have nothing to do with football and more to do with personal insults.

Of course you will all now ignore the comments about linebacker depth since you have been proven wrong. Maybe I'll go back and find all of you that called me stupid for saying there was no depth behind Collins and Hightower and see how you feel about our linebackers behind them now.

Quit while you're ahead. Hell you're not even ahead. Quit while you're behind. Quit while you're stuck in the 100 foot deep hole you've managed to dig yourself.

"I'm glad to be wrong but am not wrong about the depth"

You could use the same argument for the offense.

You should start a thread "will the offense be top 10? (Hint: No)", and then rattle off depth issues as an argument.

Bottom line this is a super bowl caliber team. We'll see how the health status works out in the next month or so.

So, having Mayo, Freeny, Bostic and Fleming are an example of poor depth? Please let me know which team it is that has a bunch of starters sitting on the bench waiting for a chance to play? Carolina, it seems, has the consensus next best or best set of Linebackers in the league. Who's next on their depth charts? Shaq Thompson, A.J. Klein, David Mayo (at least we match them with a Mayo of our own) and Ben Jacobs. Is that good depth?

What have mayo, freeny or Bostic done this year to prove to be "starters" or quality depth? Seems to me like our linebackers have been exposed any time Collins and Hightower are out.

This is a 15th-25th ranked defense and most likely in the 20s in everything except for scoring.

Feel free to disagree and we'll see who can come back and say "i told you so."

I kinda like your FTW (and I don't mean For The Win ) Attitude, Brother Pick, because it's got a certain Purity to it and I personally have no use for Conventional Thought...but my God, man!!

When you're right, you're right.

This is one of my favorite Scenes of All Time, but be warned: I am an unrepentant and unabashed Nerd, and I expect that most of you who both to invest the 3 Minutes to watch it will regret doing so and curse me roundly...But the last moment or so remind me intensely of Interception, here.

You mean like the myriad of goal post shifting bumps that you habitually employ? You're in NEP territory now.

The question still remains:

What 'quality depth' should the Patriots have signed, that could have actually taken the place given the reality of the salary cap, the reality that there are only 53 roster spots, the reality of a draft based on inverse order of previous year's performance, reality that 31 other organizations are vying for the best available talent, and reality that some players will opt for a team where they have a better opportunity to start or make the roster?

Injuries happen. It stinks. I'm not convinced that the Patriots did an egregiously poor job of building their roster, given all the constraints they faced.

I will fight you!

"BAN HIM BECAUSE I DONT AGREE WITH HIM!!!"

Should we also deport everyone in America who doesn't have the same views, religion, or ethnicity as you, mein fuhrer?
I didn't say we should ban you, just said it would make more sense to ban you rather than close the thread.

It is not about who they should have signed or how well of a job they did. I'm not saying they didn't do all they could do. That does not change the fact that we have no depth behind TWO linebackers.

What's this "we" ****? You don't get to say "we" when talking about the team when you are actively routing for the defense to suck so you can say you were right

Also what a misinformed post. What depth are you looking for? You are basically crying because the Pats don't have 2-3 starting caliber LBs behind Collins and Hightower.

You think if Kuechly and Davis went down for Carolina that there wouldn't be a noticeable dropoff? How about Wagner and Wright for Seattle?

It just speaks to how f***ing great Collins and Hightower are
