Free agency has lots of wide receivers that might help us. They are at various price levels. The market doesn't even seem as good as last year.

In any case, there are lots of options in the coming couple of weeks and months, including Edelman. The situation with Edelman is an OK one. As Talib and Vollmer did last year, he will explore and decide. In the meantime, Belichick will explore other options. I expect that we will add at least 3 wide receivers at various levels.

There is no need for panic, although the passing game needs help. Health will help (Gronkowski, Vereen, Dobson, Thompkins, Boyce and Amendola). Oops, that's ALL of our receivers coming back from injuries. We need to add a major player and a couple of minor players for competition plus a couple of tight ends perhaps through the draft). This seems very doable.

If they cant come to terms with Edelman, I really want them to sign James Jones. He is a poor mans Anquan Boldin. He is physical, has good size, good hands, runs good routes, durable and would add some much needed veteran leadership to our WR group.

I like James Jones. I might even like nicks on a cheap prove it year. Might be affordable.

ALL SET TO JUMP THE CLIFF AND GO 4-12.

In all seriousness, I hope they can bring back Jules. It would help to slightly offset some of the (understandable) angst surrounding Talib's departure.

Santonio Holmes,
Miles Austin,
Lance Moore,
Jerricho Cotchery,

a short list of vets in the pats price range that could help out Brady until they see if any of the rookies from last year can take a step forward

I think your on the right track with some of these types of signings.

In terms of replacing Edelman, I'd also suggest Sanders, Tate, etc. The James Jones signing would be nice as well.

Any of these types, which are on 2 different levels (3 if you include Austin), would be fine to bring additional depth/competition.

I think we should take a big jump into free agency on day two...

James Jones is a good name as well I think he would be a big upgrade to what is on the roster right now
