With the stretch run coming up post bye coming up. Wanted to make mention of things being said locally and nationally about the Patriots should not want to play this team, or should want to play that team. Malarkey! They are 10-2 the first team to get ten wins on the season. Whoever they draw, they will play!

They have positioned themselves by playing high quality ball all season. They have taken the coaching, have bought in to what Vrabel is doing and are learning from winning as opposed to losing

There are things that they can improve on absolutely as it's been discussed on the forum.. they are even with basically every other NFL team as far as injuries go.

So why should they fear playing anyone? Aren't they also a good team? Well coached? Elite QB? Yes we know the chiefs, Ravens, bills are all contenders.. throw in Denver, indy as well.

One thing I can rest assured on as a fan is that Vrabel's not coaching his team to fear anyone. This patiots team even with the injuries and deficiencies can hang with anyone in the league. They didn't get 10 wins by luck!

Do you believe they should operate by "fearing " and avoiding an opponent come the postseason?

Appreciate your thoughts!

Let's go patiots!!!

Ignore the noise.
This guy operated in fear..

Yep. I don't think any team wants to play a team on house money in January.
" they don't want to see the vanted chiefs in the postseason, they better try to avoid the Ravens, they won't have a chance against the Bills, they are historically bad in Denver, they don't want to see the colts.. oh look out for the vanted Texans! On,and on, and on, it goes...

Our team aint perfect but it has a championship makeup-
Top level hc and qb, few teams have this. As we’ve seen with the chiefs and our dynasty these are the 2 most important spots by a mile
We can stop the run with the best of them
Special teams is rock solid
Shutdown cb, studs at 2 and nickel too
Playmaker who can take it the distance from anywhere on the field with Henderson’s emergence
Well rounded team altogether without an obvious weakness

As long as Campbell and Williams make it back, i can’t really picture myself going into any game hating our chances of winning. Especially in the afc. Some of those nfc teams could be a problem but theres no juggernauts out there

Very, Very fair statement. Thought I'd post something on this. Things Being said nationally and locally ( if you dare to listen) but yeah.. agreed on all fronts there.. more importantly the teams put themselves in a tremendous position..
I've said recently that if it appears by week 16 we can improve or weaken out playoff position may be a good idea to play some back ups the last 2 games.. ?

There is not a team in the NFL right now that if the Patriots played 10 times I think they lose more then 6 (I.e even the rams, eagles, indy, denver etc no worse then 4-6). That gives them better then a punchers chance of going the distance and making some noise in the post season. NFL as a whole just seems really down this year with no clear favorite and even the best teams (including us) have flaws.

Agreed. All the close games we had this season.. Miami, Buffalo, Falcons, Bengals, prior to this season we're 99% chances to lose.. the difference this year is they're winning close games and overcome in-game adversity. I really think this team has a great chance of a deep play off run.

This is how fans of 10-2 teams are supposed to talk.

Assuming you meant if we CANT improve our playoff position? I think that may be a possibility the final week if we’re locked into a seed would definitely rest anybody who needs it. I can’t picture week 17 or before being like that as we are currently tied with Denver in the loss column. we’d probably hafta lose our next 3 in a row or something for that to even be a possibility… guessing Denver drops at least 2 down the stretch.

Great post. Every team has weaknesses. This board seems to be focus on picking apart the weaknesses and projecting doom because of them, or worse turning one failure into an insurmountable unfixable weakness.
All we have done since the very early part of the season is just overcome everything.

Hers a perspective. We have 13 turnovers all year which is top 10 fewest. We had 5 against Pittsburgh. Aside from that game we are close to fewest in the league (eagles have 6). So we are one if the best teams in protecting the football and if we had 4 instead of 5 in that game we’d be on an 11 game winning streak losing only a WTF opener to the Raiders. We are THAT GOOD. We are not perfect, no team is. But we do what is needed to win.

Yes thanks for the correction patsy.. you hit exactly on what I was getting at. I'm going to hold on to my prediction of splitting with Buffalo as I had in the preseason.. could be sweep the absolutely.. but I'm going to say we drop one more game the rest of regular season..now I stand to alter my prediction barring what seed we end up locked into by end of December

Semi-related:
I just got back from a week's vacation.

Without a single exception, every single person that I talked to when watching various NFL games over the week, after finding out I was a Patriots fan, all were in extreme respect with very positive comments about Drake Maye, and many also commended Mike Vrabel for the turnaround. A lot of comments about Maye's combination of arm strength and accuracy, and ability to throw the ball where only a Patriot can catch it, etc. All were very impressed with this year's turnaround.

Hope you had a nice vacation Jmt.. and happy Thanksgiving!!

thanks for sharing your experiences.. good to hear some people outside NE.. with positive commentary on the teams turn around.. in watching a bit of ESPN and some local sports.. saw some talk on who the Patriots should fear and want to avoid.. our very own Tom Curran said yesterday he could see them going 0-3 on weei yesterday..

This all fuels them.. Vrabel coaching his team to win and not coaching in fear IMO..

No one is fearing the Patriots. They are licking there chops at a chance to beat up the Patriots and get some revenge.

They are fearing Buffalo, Baltimore, and KC and happy to see Colts or Patriots instead.

Not to mention no one is scared of the copy of Dan Campbell that Vrabel has turned out to be.

Pats have no pressure on them. It's all house money.

A team like that is the last team I'd want to face in the postseason if I was an AFC team.

Exactly correct. This is a evolving roster with a 2nd year QB. Rookie LT,LG. Rookie at SS.. and they are achieving what initially was thought to take 2,3 seasons.. all the talk of other teams in the AFC only fuels them..
