The only good players we have… tell me what Wolf added with the third overall pick at the top of each round and the most cap space in the entire NFL after signing all their own free agents?

He needed a QB, a kicker and a starting tackle…

Drake Maye was a slam dunk at #3… I said be honest, what else did Wolf do right?

Slam dunk? Belichick would have passed on Maye. He was very critical of the pick. He would have traded out.

Wolf has had 1 draft,, and we aren’t even halfway into their rookie season. But he definitely would have blown their $$$ in that ****ty free agent market.

Funny how Maye is now a “ slam dunk” when half of this board didn’t want him on draft day. And the same people saying he was a “ slam dunk” would be the first people ****ting on the pick if he started poorly. They won’t give a wolf credit for the pick, but they would give him all the blame if Maye turned out to be Zach Wilson.

He gets credit for staying with the pick of Maye at 3. Absolutely. The rest of the Draft is a complete and utter Incomplete.

Maye looks wayyyy better than most fans & pundits thought he was, so Wolf & staff deserve much credit for getting that pick right. There were several other high 1st-round QB's on the table, and a trade had to be tempting. When we improve the offensive talent in general, the sky's the limit for Maye.

I think in round 2 at #34, early returns are showing they should've taken McConkey. Either that or pivot and take Patrick Paul.

Interestingly, if Zappe turns out to be as good as I think he could be, Belichick I suppose would get credit for drafting him...even though it was Bill who benched him in favor of Jones (which ended the season).

Absolutely. Belichick gets the credit for good decisions and the blame for bad ones. Gonzalez was a great pick and he gets all the credit for it

I’d agree with that.

Paul is on the bench in Miami, and although I like McConkey he’s a slot receiver, and they already have 2 ( Douglas & Bourne playing in the slot. I get why people are down on Polk, but I believe he’s going to end up being a really good player for them.

Didn't they try to get him but jumped ahead and then couldn't get back?

One draft where the only good pick was the layup at #3... every other draftee blows.

Also Wolf stunk it up in free agency, blaming the market when he chose crappy players is disingenuous at best.

What team greatly improved itself by signing players in FA this past off season? And I'm not talking about resigning their own players. I'm talking about bringing in new players from other teams. I'll hang up and listen.

Every team that greatly improved this and every season did it through free agency and the draft. This isn’t hard.

So it should be easy to name them. Give me three.
Washington, Atlanta, Pittsburgh… every team in history that made a marked improvement from one season to the next did it through free agency and the draft.

I didn't say the draft. I said free agency.

I've defended the decision to punt on cap space this year. Or at least I've understood the logic in rolling it over and been willing to accept it. They still should have been able to find some contributors. Not even saying home runs... the Antonio Gibson deal is an example of finding a decent player young enough to give a multi year deal and be able to head into next year with positions filled at some baseline level of talent. Yet he was the only such player they signed and we'll once again head into next offseason with gaping holes and talent deficiency all over the roster. Of course the fact that they couldn't find one single (positively) contributing player in the draft after Maye contributes to that.

It often gets said that this offseason was a success if Maye is a good pick and everything else fails. And that may be true. Maye looks like a QB worth building around which means we're infinitely better off. But that doesn't mean that the GM is doing a good job or proving he should be here long term. He's been a total failure in all of his other moves and that makes me think we should go get someone else. I didn't expect him to move mountains and I do give him credit for not talking himself out of Maye, but not making a single other good move is hugely concerning considering the tons of cap space he had and the fact he was picking high in rounds.

You need both.
Alright, if you won't answer my question in good faith then I'm done talking to you. I'll go back to laughing at your inane comments.
