Mike Reiss tried to take a stab at it in today's chat:

Interesting point, Paul. I'd add this one in there: What's the best way to sell your draft pick to the local fan base? Tell them the Patriots were going to pick him. That's what Brad Childress did with Percy Harvin this week. I ask you this: How possibly does Childress know what the Patriots were going to do?

I heard BB was targeting Aaron Curry with the 23rd pick.

Anyone else hear Chilress mumbling to himself looking for another way to pin that on the Patriots?

In the words of Tony Kornheiser, "This guy's a DOPE!"

And now we know why:

Minnesota Vikings No. 1 draft pick Percy Harvin was admitted to a hospital in Atlanta on Thursday with a case of "extreme dehydration," according to coach Brad Childress, who addressed the media after today's first rookie camp practice.

Childress said Harvin started vomiting in the airport in Atlanta on Thursday before being admitted to the hospital. The Vikings coach said Harvin should be released in 24-48 hours.

Harvin was on his way to Minneapolis from Florida for today's rookie camp, and had a connecting flight in Atlanta.

I read on Deadspin that he threw up on the plane.

Poor kid. I hope that it's not serious. There's a lot of stuff going around.

I wouldn't worry about it.

happens to a lot of young players when they board that plane to minnesota.
