I will go with DJ Moore shocking the draft board as I expect him to go at about 25 - He is not expected by most to be picked up before 35 or about in the middle of round 2, but I think he is going to be a solid DB in this league and some team around 25 will draft him earlier than expected.

Who do you see shocking the draft board in round 1?

You can bet the house it IS going to happen.

I'll go the opposite way and once again state that Aaron Maybin falls out of the 1st round.

1. Louis Delmas and Michael Johnson going in the 1st Round

2. Rey Maualuga and Vontae Davis falling out

3. Michael Crabtree taking a deep dive into the teens

Running poorly does seems to drop players like a stone in a big lake.

Why do you think so many teams pass on a talented 20 year old that excelled in a decent conference last season?

I heard that Al Davis was excited about WR Bey's 4.3 speed and if he goes with Bey and Jacksonville trades out of 8 or takes Macklin instead of Crabtree, it is easy to see Crabtree fall a good long ways.

As long as it's your house.

Profootballtalk.com has Percy Harvin as a possibility to Oakland at #7.

that would certainly shock me

Could OLB Johnson of Ga. Tech be our situational 3rd down and long pass rush demon?

Exposure to the entire play book is limited (less to digest), chance the opposing team runs is small and he gets to pin his ears back and explode off the edge.

Far fetched I admit, but does it upgrade our defense?

There's the history of Penn State busts. But mostly because with so many teams switching to a 3-4 he doesn't fit what most of the teams at the top are looking for. Also he's gonna need a few years of developing before he's NFL ready so the teams at the bottom half might not want to waste their pick on a project.

I like #1 and #3 to happen, I think Maualuga will go in the 1st Rd and I also think that the Raiders are going to take DHB at #7.

Sanchez falls to Brady Quinn territory as teams wizen up and realize that hes about an 85% bust chance.

I still am puzzled by the hate some here have of Maualuga - The guy has what it takes to be an effective LB in the NFL

I see no way that either Cushing or Matthews is drafted before Rey

Cushing or Matthews may find themselves out of the first round if LB is not a favorite position for some teams drafting down in the 20s - IMO Its Curry and then Maualuga and whomever third

Jared Cook goes late in the first round...possibly to Buffalo at the Philadelphia pick.

Well, they're certainly in desperate need of a pass-catching TE. This may be their number 2 or 3 need after OT (and indeed their entire O line) and a pass-rushing DE. I certainly see them using a second rounder on a TE.

Agree re Vontae Davis slipping. The character reports, IF true, mean that he will drop quite a bit.

Everette "Second Round" Brown.

I totally agree. I the guys here would have watched some USC games, they would all have seen that Maualuga is waaayyyy better than Cushing and Matthews. I don't want neither of them with 23 and i might consider them at 34.

I'm just afraid someone is goin to grab him early, in that case the trading up story makes a lot of sense.
