Beyond the x's and 0's, who has the psychological edge this game? The Patriots looked crisp this week while the Broncos did not. However, the Broncos are at home where the Patriots have struggled before.
Did the Patriots playing a good defensive team help them to prepare for the Broncos? What about the Broncos playing a dynamic Steelers team and holding them to 16, despite giving up large chunks of yards?
Psychological edge also represents who will come out in this game fired up. In my mind, Brady and the Patriots have little pressure after they won the Super Bowl last year and have found a way to be better than the injuries this year should have left them. The Broncos, on the other hand, are always classified as Super Bowl contenders, yet they looked like garbage for large stretches today. The dropped passes indicate a team nervous and not ready for the grand stage.
The injuries for the Pats on defense could be there undoing, but I suspect everyone will be in there.
