Ben Johnson is getting alot of attention.
That Detroit offense was rolling.
Detroit's offense was really good late in the year even with Goff at QB, and we know Dan Campbell wasn't really involved in that piece of it.

Out here in Arizona, I can tell you in no uncertain terms that the fan base is very happy at Kingsbury getting fired.…Along with the GM Keim “stepping down”. The only thing that would be better is if they had the trifecta and Kyler Murray was gone too.

Kingsbury likes to run his “system” and Keim give him all the toys he asked for….and the offense was still offensive. i don’t want Kingsbury anywhere the Pats. The “boy genius” label didn’t age well at all.
Something else must have been going on...

2019-5-10-1
2020- 8-8
2021- 11-6 & playoffs. Murray getting hurt did not help their chances
2022-4-13. Murray contract issues and getting hurt again.

2020 and 2021 their offenses were fine.

Seems like typical Bidwell BS to me.

Agree he’s a bright offensive mind.
He will get a job somewhere.
Thinking Arizona?

Charlie Wei’s Jr, LOL if nothing else it will prove NEM is no longer with us.

Or AWOM

I imagine NEM/AWOM in Hades chained to a rock adjacent to where Shula is chained to his rock, explaining to Don about newsletters and slant passes and how guys like Shula needed to adjust to the way football is being played now.

I don't think it'll be Kingsbury and I don't particularly want him.

I'd be fine with BOB as a guy who can come in and take over what they're already doing and just make it run better. Smarter play calling, clean up some of the routes, but no huge changes to the system itself.

I think the better long-term choice is to go with someone else entirely (not sure who) but that would suck for Mac, going into his 3rd offense in 3 years. Hard to get a good read on what they have like that. But if they're planning on signing Jimmy G or something then maybe it makes sense to change the system at the same time.
Jimmy G could practically play in both systems at this point. He's a pretty experienced vet.

Belichick is inscrutable but there's definitely a difference between how Belichick talked about Mac Jones in the preseason and Belichick's answer this morning.

And it brings me back to something Patricia said in his Zoom call. The reporter's asked him about Mac yelling about the playcalling, etc., and Patricia said, "It's great, I love it!"

It's the kind of thing you would say if you wanted to convey the exact opposite of what you really felt. It's a poison pen comment. A very atypical response.

Of course, whatever they say to reporters is meant to shut things down. That's rule #1.

But the comments from the coaches on Mac are just very weird.

What did Bill say this morning?

I think we can all expect Patricia to be relocate and locked in Ernie Adams old office after this year.

After the Kingburry news, Who do you think is the best option for the Pats ?
You need to put Patricia on the poll since it's a likely option.

Thoughts on trading a late round pick for Mitch Trubisky?
He has an arm and is mobile and never had a chance against the home town hero Pickett.
Who looked a lot better than Mac did this year.

Kings bury is my vote. I’d be can give us any insight into how bb can trade for Hopkins, then it is a win-win for us.

Patricia, judge and achord need to leave the building and never return.

When was the last time Bill brought in someone from outside his sphere to coach the offense?

There's a not so small possibility that:
1. Bill already tried to look outside this past season and couldn't find anyone that met both of their needs/ expectations;
2. There's going to be quite a few HC/OC openings that are more enticing to these coaches;
3. Bill tries to look outside and gets rebuffed again or isn't happy with the prospects.

If these things were to happen, what does Bill say to Kraft: Bob I tried. We're better off sticking with the plan. I'm confident it'll work out much better the 2nd year. We just need to get X, Y and Z players. I do have a new OL coach dedicated to that unit. Mac loves Matt. It won't be good for Mac to give him a 3rd OC in 3 years. That's what the Jetes do.

Bob: OK Bill, that makes sense. You know better. I trust you.

OP please add Patricia to the poll so I can vote. Thank you.

People talk about Patricia like Mac was raising Lazarus from the dead last year under McDaniels. Color me happy that Mac actually finished this year playing up to better opponents. And seemed to check his pissy attitude towards the end (although I may have missed things).

What did Bill say this morning?
When asked if Mac will stay the Patriots QB he said, "I believe Mac Jones has the ability to play quarterback in this league."

He took young guys who were hard workers and entrusted them.

I believe that's the optimal way to do it.

Continuity counts for a lot in this league. It's a huge advantage. Teams that reinvent the wheel all the time end up with flats.

Belichick's preferred way to do it is to give the job to young assistants with experience: McDaniels, Mangini, O'Brien, Patricia, Flores.

He doesn't look outside.

The hell does that even mean? That’s a weird answer. Especially after how hard he backed him this off-season like you said.

It definitely feels like he’s put Mac at arm’s length over the course of the season. Never spoke badly about him but never really talked him up once the games began being played.

Some part of me wonders if he could be traded… Send him to Vegas for a 2nd + 4th, use #14 on a top CB like Witherspoon or Porter Jr, then use your two high 2nds, high 3rd and your four 4ths on OL, WR, LB and DB. Maybe a punter.

That is hardly a ringing endorsement
