03 and 04 were both 14-2. Rosters were pretty much the same, Traylor in for Washington, Warren in for Hamilton.

No I am not mistaken at all. The 03 Patriots best 10 teams that won 10+ games. 10-0.
You are mistaken however. The 07 Patriots beat 8 teams that made the playoffs and lost to 1.

No because the facts say so. The facts are indisputable.


How is including a team that won 10 games in a list of teams that won 10 games “lame”? They were 10-4 against the rest of the league.

Regular season wins and losses aren't the measure.

So, this narrows it down to

If I'm forced to rank them, I'd say

1. 2004
2. 1976
3. 2001
4. 2003
5. 2016
6. 2014
7. 2018


I'd similarly rank the earlier Celtics teams in the 60's above the older ones at the end of the decade.


I think each one of these Patriots teams had some bad losses early in the season.


Obviously, there are maybe two dozen other really talented Patriots teams which got derailed by injuries or didn't have the team chemistry to overcome other adversity, like lousy coaching decisions, etc.

2007 is overhyped based on the blowouts from the front half of the regular season. They lost their dominance as the season went on.

2004 was a rock crushing machine. It had the inevitably of geological events. Played against the best offense ever to that point and castrated it.

2014 was sneakily the most all around talented.
