But DAMN!!! That was fun.Impossible to choose. The butt fumble doesn't belong on the list.
Malcolm Butler pick to seal it. Something about the drama of that game, the clutch nature of that play, and the look on Sherman’s face was pure ecstasy.
28-3 close second.
36 was awesome too but winning on a FG somehow just wasn’t quite as exciting.
Kind of crazy to think 36 was the first walk off in SB history and the other 8 SBs were equally or even more climatic.Malcolm Butler pick to seal it. Something about the drama of that game, the clutch nature of that play, and the look on Sherman’s face was pure ecstasy.

haha, yes, the look on Sherman's face was priceless!Malcolm Butler pick to seal it. Something about the drama of that game, the clutch nature of that play, and the look on Sherman’s face was pure ecstasy.

There’s very few other moments that could even rank against it if we measure by long term significance. You said moments and then put entire games.
As far as moments go:
I started with.
Brady spiking the ball just before Vinatieri's kick. There's the moment of wholly **** what did that kid just do. Combined with confidence that Vinatieri wouldn't miss after having seen those snow kicks.
Then of course there is the moment it went thru the uprights.
I also considered the OT coin toss vs ATL, White's game sealing run, or Edelman's catch because of the significance of getting our own Catch.
But ultimately I think it's the greatest moment in football history. The change of fates for 2 franchises flipped the moment Butler intercepted Russ.
It does kind of stand alone. We've had so many and things can resonate with individuals differently so if someone picked Vinatieri's game winner vs Rams or something else then great but Butler's INT may be the greatest moment in NFL history nevermind just team history. There’s very few other moments that could even rank against it if we measure by long term significance.
The catch and the tuck rule might be the only other two.
If we're talking moment, it's either AV kick to beat the Rams or the Butler Interception - both won SBs and are iconic in New England and US sports lore. (I chose Butler since it's just an incredible play)
but 28-3 really encompasses everything great about the TB/BB Patriots - it all came together for the best comeback in sports history.
That INT was crucial. Had he dropped it and the Seahawks scored on another play, we would’ve seen a lot of finger pointing within the locker room and among the media leading to a potential early divorce berween Tom and BillI voted Butler because imo it was an inflection point for the dynasty. We were on the verge of going 3-3 with Brady/Belichick, it was going to be the third Super Bowl where a late game circus catch cost them, Deflategate just happened and a SB loss would have been a total moral killer for everyone. It got Brady a 4th ring, which was the magic Joe Montana number. It capped off the "the Patriots aren't good anymore" turn around. It prevented us going over a decade without SB wins, and it kicked off the real second wind of the franchise.
Winning the first was the only thing comparable in terms of overall impact.
If you remove out all the context and just go with how big a moment was that day, it's probably 28-3.
The look on Sherman’s face is part of that moment.Malcolm Butler pick to seal it. Something about the drama of that game, the clutch nature of that play, and the look on Sherman’s face was pure ecstasy.

That was just the beginning of the humiliating pantsing of the Rats on national TV on Thanksgiving evening.
Rex Ryan - “Un-bleeping believable.”
The look on Sherman’s face is part of that moment.
The look on both Blanks’ faces is almost as good, especially in the context of Arthur earlier busting out his dance moves prematurely.
It was actually the middle play of a three TD disaster for the Jest. Vereen had a super long TD right before the butt fumble series, and of course, Edelman on the ensuing kickoff.
Chef's kiss...
You know there were a few times I honestly felt bad for Bills fans when they'd get themselves all riled up that 'this' was the year they'd dethrone the king and then Brady & Co would just de-pant them again and again and again...
Curiously that never happened with the Jete, I enjoyed every last ounce of misery they endured. The Jete just couldn't be curb stomped enough for me.
