I wouldn't even put HT in the star category.

Then you would be wrong. Hightower was an All-Pro in 2016. When he re-signed he was the second highest paid ILB in the league

6. 2016. Only lost one game with Brady as a starter. Chris Hogan was a really good addition.
And the one loss ended with the Patriots on the 1 yard line failing to punch it in(for the tie) against a good Seattle team.

I mixed him up with someone else in terms of the contract extension. I also forgot that in today’s game you can be pedestrian and get a massive deal. See Robert Hunt.

He only made the Pro Bowl twice and an All Pro once. With that said, I still don’t put him the “star” category as that was reserved for Patrick Willis, NaVarro Bowman, Luke Kuechly and Bobby Wagner who were constantly recognized as among the best.

Had HT stuck outside and rushed the passer more (which I think he was very underrated in doing), he would’ve been recognized more.

Bad game plan by Bill and Patricia as they were scared to death of rushing Russell Wilson. They let him sit back and just pick the defense apart.

If 2016 had virtually any other realistic game flow in the Super Bowl win, think they’d be more consensus around the very top. It was a miracle win in a not miracle season. The FU Goodell tour.

For me it all comes down to a preference for the kind of football you want to watch. I have never loved being a patriot fan more than pats get the ball, 4th quarter, up by a TD, 6 mins to go and knowing you could shut the tv off because the game was over. 2004 clock killin dillon was peak greatest football ever to me. We were running the ball, they knew we were running the ball, we knew that they knew we were running the ball, and it just didn’t matter. 4 yards, 8 yards, 5 yards, 6 yards, 12 yards as the March down the field to stick the dagger in felt inevitable. Violent angry running against a tired defense that just wanted to go home. I would imagine it’s the same feeling wankee fans had when Mariano came in to close the 9th. The pure bliss in knowing you have punched them in the mouth, took their lunch money, and claimed their souls as your own. While 2007 set records and I’m sure destroys every other team statistically, for me they just never had that feeling of it doesn’t matter what you do, we are going to end you, so 2004 wins greatest pats team.
I change my vote to what he said.

2004
2 losses during regular season.
Held number one offense, colts to 3 points in division round
Scored 40+ on a great defense the steelers in the championship round.

They flat out dominated
Had Andy Reid scared to call plays in the Superbowl

2007
2004

Could go any order with these...
2014
2015
2010
2016

2007 team made me a fan of the sport, so....

Two Patriot interceptions helped Seattle quite a bit.

2007
2016
2004

CLOCK KILLING COREY DILLON!!!!
He was the biggest reason BB parted with Milloy. The second game of the '01 season was at Cincy and Dillon pretty much gave Milloy a bloody nose. Fast forward, BB releases Milloy, signs Rodney Harrison and Corey Dillon.

CLOCK KILLING COREY DILLON!!!!
The 2004 and 2016 teams were really the best… they won the entire thing.

I loved the 2007 team but they lacked a power run game and the Giants had one. They exploited that in the final game.

Being able to grind out tough yards and end games by winding down the clock is a big advantage, being bigger and stronger to beat down opposing defenses is better. The 2007 offense was a little too finesse.

The 2004 team, at full health, was the deepest, most cohesive and complete team I've ever seen. I like their chances against ANY opponent from any era.

2014 and 2016 are close behind. The 2014 team was front-loaded in the starting 22 but lacked depth, the 2016 team had some below-average starters but insane depth all around.

I love the 2003 team more than any other, but they have no business in this conversation.

I kind of came to low key hate the 2007 team. That run or 54 - 7 victories made me entitled. My expectations were thrown way out of whack, and close games lost their thrill. By the end of it I was just exhausted.
