Where will Tony Romo go next? Jets?

It would be a Jets move to bring him in. The Jets are all about getting in the NY headlines and that would do it.

Broncos but they would have to do some heavy cap manipulation in order to afford him and maintain that defense. Luckily for them, the Broncos have always been pretty good at manipulating the cap.
I believe they call it "creative accounting".....

I hope that he goes to one of the contenders that we are up against.
Paying that kind of money for a QB made of glass is the best way to ruin a good team.

Exactly AJ people forget the guy is 36 and not 26 I would love to see which Team go out of their way for him with that hefty contract.

Really, if a team trades for Romo they are going to HAVE to have a starter-quality backup.

Not just 36 but 36 and fragile as a Ras-I

I'm not sure how Romo ruins the Jets, Texans, or Broncos

Paying him 20 million to get hurt in week 3 will hurt any team.

So you're saying that those teams w enough talent to win everywhere but at QB shouldn't take the risk to get a potentially elite QB?

Yeah, you're wrong

If they spend 20 mill on a QB who will end up injured they wont be able to keep the rest of the talent.
Denver is spending about 50 cents on the QB position.

They managed to add significant pieces to the defense with manning on the books. I'm guessing they'd figure it out.

Something many peoplePatriots fans don't understand is you can get really creative with the cap... pats aren't very good at that. Seattle has managed to keep almost everyone

Seattle had lost as many players as the patriots have.
Patriots are reknowned excellent cap managers.
If manning didn't retire Denver would have list players they otherwise kept in addition to some they lost anyway.
Spending 20 mill on a fragile QB takes 20 mill away from the rest of your roster. If he is healthy maybe he is worth 20 mill and if not you pissed away a ton of cap space.

He would do well on the jags I think. Bortles is on a rooki contract still and who knows if they pick up his 5th year cuz he stinks. Weaker division on top of that he could have success there.

Chicago..you heard it here first

Well, enjoy Ward, Talib, and Miller then because they aren't winning another ring with Trevor Simien

Also, the Patriots are not renowned excellent cap managers, they are cheap and get rid of players before they get expensive, lol

A lot of the time they make the right move, but let's not pretend they manage the cap beautifully, because they don't

Couple of points to add to your thoughts:

1) I don't disagree with you that Romo would be a solid move for any number of teams, and I'm sure that we'll see several who are interested. As @AndyJohnson reminds us, Romo does have an injury history, so it may/may not ultimately work out for them, but I certainly agree with you that he instantly makes a team like the Broncos much more formidable than they already are. Even a team like the NYJ probably compete for a wildcard spot if he's able to stay healthy.

As noted, that's a big "if." That said, I also believe that some of Romo's injury concerns may be a bit overstated; after all, he's played in 13+ games in 9/11 past seasons. He had some bad luck with the collarbone thing and will probably have to manage some back pain, but I don't think we can automatically assume either way that he'll be healthy or injury prone. People said the same thing about Manning, who came back and threw 55 touchdown passes, then later went on to win another Super Bowl. In the end, it's possible that both sides could be correct (and obviously also wrong on some level). Romo may miss 4-5 games per year in his next couple of seasons and he may still be a major upgrade for that team.

2) I strongly disagree with you opinion that "the Patriots are not renowned excellent cap managers," and I also disagree with the notion that "they are cheap and get rid of players before they get expensive." As a matter of fact, that's what allows them to be so effective at managing the cap. They draft pretty well when compared to the other 31 teams, and their success is predicated on utilizing those cheap, rookie contracts. They are not "cheap," but rather careful about who they give major, long-term deals to. Those are reserved for players who are versatile, show good leadership, have an excellent work ethic, and lots of talent. Belichick is obviously the one who makes that decision based on whatever criteria he sees fit, but I know that I'm damn glad that we didn't overpay for some guys that so many wanted to keep.

Let's also remember that they're projected to have approx. 60-70m dollars in available cap space this offseason, so Belichick has checked off both boxes in terms of the usual 12-4 record and AFCCG appearances, PLUS the flexibility to manage his team for the future in many different ways. That's very impressive in my opinion.

I'm not saying I want Romo in Jersey yet, because I'd like to see what Petty and Hack can do first. Though if they don't show much promise, it's all aboard the Romo-train as far as I'm concerned.

Sure, saying he's injury prone is like saying Kim Kardashian has a curve or two, but the upside is too good to pass up. Romo to Marshall/Decker/Quincy (and even some of the younger WRs now) would be pretty darn sweet.

Plus you gotta admit, NY is a nice landing spot for a guy like Romo, ie, nearing retirement, popular and probably looking to cash in with marketing and/or even broadcasting.

The Jets spent 12mil on an absolute joke of a QB this season. Paying Romo would be a smart business/cap decision in comparison.
