When Glenn Dorsey falls to us....

BTW, Dorsey isn't the only guy who could last to #7. There's also the possibility that Sedrick Ellis drops there as well. That would give the Pats the ability to talk to a variety of suitors such as Denver, Carolina, New Orleans, etc.

Not nearly as ridiculous as Wilfork falling to #21, and still being only the second DT taken in the draft that year. Only Harris @14 went before him.

Ridiculous: Was referring to the Pats selecting Dorsey -- not him falling. :)

I'm curious if Ellis' lack of height (6') will affect his selection. Highly impressive player as we know. But wonder if some teams place any emphasis on height with their DL (at the pro level). Not saying he won't succeed...but as we know, some teams look at the player -- others look at the measurables.

Thoughts?

Height is not as important for defensive tackle/NT types. It might even give him a lower center of gravity edge for fighting off centers. It's always nice to have height, but that shouldn't be a problem. Casey Hampton, one of the premier NTs in the game is only 6'1. Ellis officially measured in at 6' and one half inch, 309 lbs. So he is well within the acceptable size range for his position.
