When Did SMY Turn Into Such a Bitter Person?

At last, a complex and nuanced post, although paradoxically somewhat ambiguous, my attempts to honestly assimilate it have really put me out countenance.

Please let me wish you the very best in your ongoing cognitive struggles.

(and you left out "frankly tedious," a particular favorite of mine.)

This is upsetting. Very upsetting.... quick question though....

who the hell is Shaliss M Young?

Nothing worse than a sports journalist thinking it's a platform for spewing political views.

"Hey Shaliss, we don't care what your political views are...stick to sports commentary"

Sincerely

Liberals share the Romantic view that simple and pure is best, that we really can learn everything we need to know in kindergarten, as one of their beloved gospels put it. A few simple ideas suffice for them. Complexity, nuance, paradox, ambiguity: the stuff of actual human experience, honestly assimilated, are not to be countenanced.

This is why liberals are so boring: they are determinedly and predictably uninteresting. When they get angry, as they inevitably do when reality refuses to conform to their carefully cultivated delusions, they do not even have the charm of the intellectual toddlers they aspire to be.

The result is the sort of frankly tedious phenomenon under discussion here. She is a bore, as one would expect. She's been working on it for years, no doubt, in an environment, The Globe, which is very supportive of those aspire to a condition of sniveling nullity.

You could have just typed "I think liberals are stupid children" instead of verbosely masturbating all over the text entry field.

Based on your original post I assumed that the goal was to use as many pretentious sounding words as possible in a sentence, perhaps as some type of game or a contest, and I wanted to submit my own contest entry. While "frankly tedious" might be a favorite of yours, IMHO it isn't nearly pretentious sounding enough.

I am entirely sincere. And, true to form, this is just the sort of effete and predictable rejoinder one would expect.

Of course it's the "rejoinder one would expect". You punched them in the eye and they countered with a shot to your mouth.

When Did SMY Turn Into Such a Bitter Person?

Most likely shortly after conception, when her xx chromosomes started to assert themselves.

I kid...its possible that not all women are like my wife.

Absolutely outstanding! Worthy of the great Bill Buckley himself.

Knock it off. All we care about around here is if a guy can block, tackle, catch the football or cover his man. Liberal, conservative, libertarian, socialist, anarchist, black, white, Hispanic, Asian, whatever. Do your job. Don't fumble. Put the team ahead of your contract, except in the offseason. That's what makes this forum great.

Shalise Manza Young is one of the top five or six women sports writers in the country. She understands football better than most, and damn well sure has more contacts within the NFL who share insights than you do. She's a journalist who sometimes gets it right and sometimes gets it wrong. This is an instance where she's wrong. It surprises us. That's all.

Your blather masquerading as erudition looks sexist to me. There are numerous women on this forum who who know more about football than you ever will. There are lots of women who are our heroes: Stephanie Stradley, Esq., Myra Kraft, Katie Nolan, Jackie MacMullan, the women moderators at PatsFans.com.

Take your immature, misguided generalizations to the political forum or somewhere where people care.

Yah, I DO agree with stuff like her pie tweet but she's sunk down many levels in responding.
I blame Twitter. I really do.
It's why I don't go there. It would bring out the worst in me.

Exactly.

And in fairness I've seen her subjected to a lot of stupid and "just wrong" comments on Twitter for both her views on sports and politics - she'd do well to ignore them but I can't blame her for getting her back up all the more

Though I think she's very much of the mindset that whatever pulpit she has she can speak out on her views of "what's wrong" out there, she has an obligation to do so

I can't say I disagree with her on that. She's not one to remain a wallflower when she sees something wrong.

Speak for yourself about being surprised. She's a miserable pathetic whiny hack who's wrong plenty of times. She was marginally OK at the ProJo and took the big cliff dive once she was at the Globe.

At the risk of having us shifted to the PF, I'm guessing you're not a 'liberal.'

Are you a conservative, or independent? Just curious.
