Yes,Brett is going to the HOF when he retires in 30 years (sarcasm) but what is it with the media already hyping the Favre vs. Brady clashes in the AFC East?
Favre is indeed a great QB but is 38 years old and only still playing because his wife can't stand his ass around the house 24/7 and probably made him come back for another year of beatings or threatened him to have to go milk some cows in their back yard in the boondock hills of Louisiana if he doesn't get back on the field.
While Favre will allegedly make the Jets a better team, I don't see this clash of QBs as a big rivalry like the media is already creating from what I have read among the top sports websites.
To me the only clash of QBs which should create media hysteria right now in this league and until they retire unless another QB suddenly arises is Brady Vs. Manning - Peyton is the only man right now to get the respect at QB like Brady has and its not even close for third,I would not even put Brett at 3rd - Romo is a distant 3rd best at this point,Favre had his days in the late 90s.
If Brady was QB here in the middle/late 90s and they were both in their late 30s now then I can see why it would be a big deal - But IMO you are talking about a guy heading off into the sunset on a team probably not going far for the next year or two against a guy who is still relatively young and has potential to win a few more titles in NE.
This Brady vs. Favre is nothing but generated hype to create something that is really not even close - Despite his great stats last year in the weak NFC and his weak division,Favre is not even in the league of Brady or Manning so this BS should really stop - Its an insult to Brady AND Manning at this point in their careers to have another come anywhere near the QBs they are at this point.
I think Brady has as much of a respected rival competitor in the division at QB in Edwards and Pennington as much as Favre.
