Long before we start making draft binkies,I believe it is important to decide what positions need help first. BB believes in building a Team, not collecting stars. So what positions do you think merit drafting, or what he thinks merit drafting?
Unlike the previous 5 years when he emphasized Defense, I suspect that this Draft may be dedicated to acquiring Offensive skill players. RBs and WRs might actually be drafted, IMHO.
The only exception might be a draft of a LOT candidate first. I'd go OT, RB, RB, WR with #2, #3, #3 and #4.
What say you?
Dangerous to say in pats drafts. But the only sure fire Lock need i have for this team is OT. Solder, Cannon and Vollmer have been injured all year. We can't go into a new season with that being our only T options.
Instead of saying what we do need. I'll start by crossing off the list positions i don't think we will take.
No (high) need:
C: Stork and Andrews are young, cheap and experienced now.
QB: Brady and Jimmy are locked in
SS: Chung/Wilson/Ebner are a good rotation and cheap.
FS: McCourty/Harmon have been very good and i see no need to change this. Richardson as young blood.
RB: Blount/Lewis cheap and productive. White has gotten a ton of reps with Lewis out and has been very productive. Bolden is a St guy who helps in a pinch.
DE: Nink/Sheard across from Jones as the strength of this position. Flowers showed good potential before going down. Grissom is a work in progress.
DT: Brown, Easley, Hicks and Branch. An extremely strong group.
LB: Collins/Hightower. Mayo is probably cut but Freeny behind him played well. We play so much 2LB with Chung on the line that is has devalued the need for a top end 3rd LB.
Positions left?
OT: Highest need in my opinion for reasons mentioned above
OG: Good young talent here. God enough? OL has been a clear weakness for this team.
CB: Injuries have hurt this position. But you can never have enough depth. Slot corner still plays a ton of snaps.
WR: Will Amendola/LaFell both return? Dobson hasn't worked out to date. I could see some talent being introduced here. But with our record selecting WR's. Who knows.
IMO this off season should be about keeping our D together and infusing more talent into the OL who individually I like, But as a unit have under performed this year.
