What happened to Heath Evans!!??

NFLN & ESPN are a lot less infuriating when you realize it's just a bunch of actors pretending to analyze the sport but in reality their insight is on the level of your typical wrestling promo.

He's just playing a role.

The only time I watch NFLN is if there is some breaking news or to watch replays of one of our victories to relish it.

The only time I watch ESPN is the 3 seconds it takes to recognize I'm on that channel before hitting the channel up button on the remote.

Andrew Luck beats the Patriots cause... well cause it's gotta happen at some point right? Lol at that analysis.

Love Heath anyway, but not sure why he thinks Dallas and Philadelphia will be pushovers. And the NFL Network is probably the most balanced network in its treatment of the Patriots. A lack of constant animosity towards the team might lead one to perceive them as pro-Patriots (but remember, that's only because of the prevalence of animosity everywhere else).

I think that Heath's trolling for comments at the NFLN site. It's the only thing I can think of to explain his predictions.

As to football stuff, I don't mind the NFLN. MUCH better programming that the football-related stuff at FESPN. The only time I'll watch something on FESPN is if either New England or Alabama is playing. Otherwise, I just skip past it on the channel lineup.

The other channel I like is the SEC channel. Helps me get my football jones while waiting for the NFL season to start.

They have a lot more knowledge than they show. But that's not why they are there. They are there to play a role as you say. I'm pretty certain that a lot of the time they aren't saying what they actually believe. But what the producers want them to believe for the segment they are currently in.

I'm sure that you could get some extremely in depth football stuff from the guys there. But that doesn't get the same viewing numbers. So instead they play roles in the entertainment network that is NFL Network.

It is playing a role, but I don't understand the Bills getting 12 wins. When was the last time a team got 12 without a top 10 QB? Schaub?

Bill Belichick is gonna lose to Indianapolis, but Rex Ryan is gonna beat them?? Based on what, imagination??

I agree the Pats will win between 11-13 games.. but disagree that the Bills will win 12.. as usual the Bills, Dolphins and Jets will be tough games for the Pats..

The mystique of Rex Ryan continues.. the belief in the myth is greater than the belief in the reality.

The Ryan Coaching Family was such a story that they keep wanting to happen... Guys, it's okay that they're all meh-to-decent coaches. I know it's the closest thing to the coaching version of the Manning family, and you inflated that story for the last 15 years to the delight of millions... but just let it go. Rex knows D, and that's really saying something coming from me... I'm not a big fan of the guy. Rex knows feet. Rex don't know winning.

PS, no matter how often they're wrong, what's the ego calculus to these predictions now?

"First!" gets you points when they're finally right in predicting "The Demise"

"Oops, the Pats are still good" is such well-worn ground by now that nobody notices.... throw that in with the fact that it's a pre-season prediction? Pshh.

Probably avoiding the Jerome Bettis treatment for getting kicked off for being too much of a homer. Still love you Heath! Man that lolfins game when Heath went HAM I'll never forget.

I think that is exactly it. They probably discuss each segment and determine who is taking which position so they can 'debate'. It's sports news theater.

There is no one who is a greater Pats fan than me ever since 1961, but Heath is being very observant.

Buffalo is a very very good team held back by QB play. Matt Cassell is not Tom Brady; but he is a capable and winning "game manager" if he doesn't have to carry a team.. He won 11 games twice in his career, with the Pats in 2008 and KC in 2010. He went to the Probowl twice for those performances.

Both the Pats and Chiefs were talented teams those seasons. Buffalo is now a similarly talented club, so in good conscious Heath's comments are astute and even possibly valid.

Meh, the other day Lavar Arrington picked the Giants to lose to 3 AFC East teams....and beat the Patriots.

Remind me, have the Patriots entered the post season in a wild card spot since Brady/BB took over? It'd be nice to have four playoff games to watch instead of three.
