What Do You Want?

So he would've benched Tom for Garrapollo?
If Garrapollo outperformed Brady in preseason do you think BB would have stuck by Brady? If you want your team to win you have to make decisions based on performance. I want the best players playing who can help this team next season, if its Andrews great if its someone else then fine.

Top 3......What pick would we have to use on that position? I would put tackles and receivers over the center as priority. I cant imagine the top 3 ranked centers come in around round 3.
From what I've been studying regarding the Top 3 to 4 ranked Centers in the Draft, the Top Ranked Center is projected to be a 3rd Rounder. Therefore, I suspect that we could possibly get an even bigger, stronger, and possibly at least as athletic David Andrews in or after the 4th Round (perhaps later). Of course, this is where talent evaluation comes in.

Deebo and Kupp are two guys that I had my eyes on the day they were drafted but both are used goods at this point. I'd prefer DK or AJ at this stage.

I guess my bigger point is Kraft is still making the actual final call.

DK concerns me....all the physical talent you could ask for but I have seen him lose his @$%# on the sidelines too many times.

Too bad they didn't have the cap space.
I don't think that's true. They just wouldn't have had the cap space to make those big splashes in FA when we landed Jonnu Smith and Nelson Agholor.

Cap space can always be created by spreading it out over future years

What's everyone's take on Rhamondre moving forward? This was supposed to be the run heavy season and statistically it was his worse year. I know the offensive line played a role in this but he also had 7 fumbles. I felt that when given the chance Gibson played better. Next year will be year 5 for him in the nfl and thats about the career span for a RB that plays his style of football. Do we start looking for his replacement? I hope we keep Gibson because he played well and he has another gear that Rham does not when trying to get to the edge. I would like to see him actually used this year the way we expected him to be.....James White 2.0. I think with Josh back he would be used to feature his strengths and could be a real weapon. Just not sure if we try to bring in another veteran back or give Rham another year and develop a rookie. I am very concerned about his ability to hang onto the ball.

They had ~$25m in cap space after the Thuney 1yr deal. Tom's deal w/ TB in 2020 was $25m. By strict definition, without doing anything they didn't have the space.

Correct. It's infinite discussion. You can always create dummy years, push money, cut players, restructure, etc.

My main want is to shore up the offensive line. Pay a guy like Cam Robinson or Jonah Williams if they hit the market, or either of the two Ravens tackles if they make it to free agency. Draft Will Campbell or Kelvin Banks (whether you trade back or not), and then you theoretically have two starting tackles. That allows Mike Onwenu to kick back inside and hopefully regain his prior form at RG and leave him there. If Andrews is coming back, let him battle it out with Strange at center and then dig through the trash on the roster and pick a LG.

At receiver, they really need to find a #1 guy. The easiest thing to do would be to pay for Higgins if he hits the market, but if the Bengals do surprise everyone, then we would need to switch to plan B, which would be a trade. Offer up a third for DK Metcalf? He signed an extension 3 years ago, but his role seemed to be somewhat diminished this season, and honestly, he seems like a guy who could use a change of scenery. Garrett Wilson would be a home run, but I think it is a complete long shot. Wilson has made some comments over the last year that make it seem like he isn't thrilled to be there, and the Jets already have some young guys that will need deals. I assume a first-round pick would be the starting point, and we would likely have to pay a premium on top of it considering it's the Jets. Wilson almost isn't even worth mentioning due to how minimal the chances of it happening are. Deebo and Kupp are two guys that you could probably trade a mid-round pick for, but I wouldn't be as thrilled with them considering how many games they have missed recently.

On defense, I would try and bring in a few high-to mid-level free agents from the Lions to help jumpstart what Williams will be looking to do. Derrick Barnes at LB looked like he was set to be a key piece on that defense before hurting his knee. If the Lions don't retain him, I would hope we bring in a guy who knows the system at a position of need. Carlton Davis was a solid starting corner in Detroit who, depending on his market, would make a nice tandem with Gonzo on the outside. DE John Cominsky, edge defender, Al-Quadin Muhammad, and LB Ben Niemann would be cheap veteran options from Detroit that could compete for roles on defense. It is just hard to know who Detroit will re-sign with all the injuries they had last year and all the turnover on the coaching staff.
I agree with those as the top three priorities.

In this order:
1. OL
2. D
3. WR

Agreed that without cap manipulation it wasn't there. The talent was already declining on the roster after years of bad drafting as well. Personally I think Brady leaving was for the best, he got to cement his legacy winning with another coach and team, and the Pats got to move on without dragging Brady down with a talent depleted offense.

To the posters point, had they drafted AJ Brown and DK Metcalf instead of Harry and Jooewaun Williams then the offense is loaded, and they don't need to spend and waste cash on AB which would have left more cap space the following year.

Rham started out great in the first game and faded with the rest of the team. Most of his fumbles came at the end of games after he was tired. I think that he can turn it around if used properly. Gibson proved to be worth keeping and using him to exploit his strengths. I would like to see them bring in a vet to provide depth while developing a couple of young players.

As much RBs had a revival this past season I'm still pissed they overpaid him. If they could trade him I would. The RB position in general has a shelf life of 5 years max. The Saquons and Henrys are so rare.

stanley and kupp.

Looking at Vrabel's draft history with the TItans, the trend points to the first pick to be on defense.

We need to draft at least one "Workhorse" RB in this draft. They can be had in or after the 4th Round. I wanted Braelon Allen last draft, but that obviously didn't happen. I saw RB as a need before last year's draft. It's even more so of a need now.

Just another one of Wolf's serious miscalculations. What the hell had he done to deserve an extension like that? He was coming off his worst season and the OL was among the worst in the league (Wolf was the only one that disagreed). Rham is not a very dynamic back and really needs superior blocking in order to be effective. With that said, Pats are on the hook with him until 2026, but will probably draft someone in the mid rounds.
