He said they had some "first day" guys as UDFA, not first rounders nessisarly.

Just hang in there a bit longer -- and don't worry. There's lots of Pats prospects left in the draft from round three on. I think we may end up with another starter or two who could be ready to step in by year two. In addition, there's some developmental prospects worth a stab at. There's also the possibility of a hidden gem somewhere on day two, who may not fit anyone but the Pats.

We have one likely 2008 starter. This was our TARGET. Barring a tradeup, this board wanted Griffin or Meriweather for weeks. The only question was for bb to satisfied regarding the character issue. We should be really psyched about our #1 pick. We got our man!!!

We still have reasonable three additional chances for a 2008 contributer or even a starter.

That does count anything for the comp fifth, the four sixths or the seventh.

Oh, and BTW, we have Welker and a 2008 first.

The problem, this year and every year, is that we posters (especially draftniks who think the draft solves all needs) want the patriots to find linebackers in the draft and the patriots believe the place to find linebackers is in free agency or by trade.
