OK, so we've got time to kill until the next pick. Who do you like? Here's a few names:

RB Irons, Hunt
LB DeOssie, Durant, Abbate, Nicholas
CB Hughes, Wilson
S Piscitelli, Wendling

Others???

gimme a CB or LB. we didnt address that yet.

only safety i would take would be Gattis there.

I say we trade it for a 3rd round pick next year and a 7th round pick this year.

a running back seems right

Why the impatience?

The Pats will consistently compete for championships.

Trade the pick for a 3rd round pick next year and a #7 pick in 2007.

a Linebacker or a RB like Brandon Jackson unless someway somehow Brian Leonard fell all the way to 91 (I know that won't happen)

Probably a punter.....sorry guys, just disgusted by the fact that we had 2 #1's, and yet our draft has been terrible. Meriweather & Harris (or Poz) would have been the ultimate draft, yet our division rivals get the ILB's we needed. Jets got Harris and Buffalo got Poz. So far, this draft get's a D- in my books, regardless of who we get at 91 or with SF's #1 in 2008. Terrible trade, unless SF's #4 becomes Randy Moss. Terrible trade.

Are you completely disregarding the other pick acquired in the trade?

Pathetic and shortsighted.

Obviously we didn't draft these players because we didn't think very HIGHLY of them. But in the process, we did get an excellent safety. How about you wait to see how this plays out before you start hyperventilating.

With all our picks I'd hope we don't even end up picking 91.

Would like to see them package some of those 2007 picks to move up in Round 3 to grab someone they really like.

Obviously you do not understand the draftnik mentality.

What we should have done is drafted someone, anyone at 28 even if they thought he wasn't worth a 1st round pick. Then the draftniks could spend the next 4-5 years calling him a bust.

What is amazing is it was common knowledge the Pats wanted out of this first round in the worst way. BB said publicly that guys going today had UDFA grades. Why is anyone surprised?

91 is a funny position. Too low to get a good CB or LB that I can recall...and too high to waste it on a guy with potential and "high upside".

Stewart Bradley in the 3rd (don't think he'll last though, maybe trade up for him with the 6th rounder)
Maybe Michael Bush in the 4th
Courtney Brown CB in the 4th
Anthony Waters with the 5S pick

Trade down, and keep trading down until we own every pick in the 7th round! :rocker:

He said what? Guys "going today"...meaning guys who went in the first round were UDFA to the patriots? When did he say that?

WEEI yesterday.

Lorenzo Booker or Brandon Jackson are my main targets.

I'm also wondering just how high Stewart Bradley and Wendling will go. If any of:
Josh Wilson, Bradley, Booker, B. Jackson, Gattis, and Wade are available I'm taking them. I'll have a better idea when we get closer to the pick.

Brandon Jackson might be OK. What about Michael Bush?

Maybe get Wright in lower rounds.

40 picks....tick tick tick...very possible someone good will fall that low

Wilson
Bradley
Gattis
Wendling (good bet)

can't think of too many LBs though.
